Title: Photographic Images and Meditation
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Feb 15, 2011 08:58 pm
Recently there was quite an in depth thread on thoughts and meditation.
What interests me is that images can have the by product of thoughts or visa versa. i was meditating this morning and suddenly saw an image of me typing some form on the computer  and then introducing a family to the music store i serve in. i instantly recognized that these mind photographs could/would lead to a host of other thoughts. We constantly have to be on alert for the minds continuous preoccupation with entertaining itself.

Contrary to the post above I do believe we at times see images that benefit our meditation. I suppose that is the nature of duality and the paradoxes we often experience in this realm. This morning I saw an ocean scene associated with something I had seen in the past. It was very calming to the mind and therefore I found it helpful in my meditation.
