Title: Mission Statement
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on May 22, 2009 09:44 am

Mission Statement.

******************************

Inquiring Minds want to know; At a place where we celebrate the joy of love, life and spirit. You have entered a labyrinth, but never fear the portal is here! Roadmap information will be provided to inquisitive souls visiting.

Welcome to Spiritual Portal, a spiritual forum for music and art that emphasizes the spiritual life and meditation. As a friend who is a monk would say to me “It’s not about religion, but about spirituality and that life that takes us inward.” Spiritualportal.net is a headquarters for spiritual and psychic people and interests. This is a place where people from all spiritual paths can connect, to meditate, enjoy spiritual music, learn about the teachings of P. Yogananda, Amma and other spiritual leaders, and a place to share their own spiritual and psychic experiences, as they travel together on the journey towards enlightenment. In this sense it is also a place where we can help others be aware of spiritual and psychic activities going on that we may have not known about otherwise. The power of others coming together with common interests and intentions builds a strong magnet that draws the intended goal.

This is also a place to share your thoughts, ideas, dreams and visions. Through this interchange we can also help others and let them help us in a growing awareness of our spiritual, psychic, social and environmental awareness. In that spirit we do the same and are pleased when people from other paths join us here at Spiritualportal.net. This forum was not designed to exclude other religions or paths nor to make others in our image. We all are climbing that mountain. Someday we will be at the top and ask our friends how they got there and they might point to a different mountain slope they climbed. However, the peak remains the same.

In the spirit of the first amendment this forum uses its model;

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which respect an establishment of religion, prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the right to peaceably assemble, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.

If big companies do not also respect this right the world can be controlled by the views of them instead of the people who created them. If people never come together in solidarity with common aspirations the world can fall to the lower nature of individuals unconcerned with the welfare of all spirits on Mother Earth.

At times some personal interests and experiences may contribute to the site which may not seem to directly relate to spiritual aspirations but do reflect an understanding of our members and their lives.

We would also like to have a place to support artists who would/could be recognized for their spiritual contributions in creativity. In the future, there will be spiritual music and artwork offered for purchase. This is a long range project that includes and lends the ideals of those artists/entertainers/writers and technical creativity of those who are dedicated to uplifting others thru their art, spirituality and humor.

There are a couple of boards that are unavailable to guests and only to members. These are; Kriya Yoga specifics in respect to the wishes of some Kriya Masters not to give out the techniques and instruct practitioners how to practice them. Also the subject; ‘Good News Travels Fast’ the reason being that as more and more political posts were coming to the forum, the site began to look like a political site rather than a meditation and spiritual site which we would like to convey to the public.

I believe presently we have quite a contrast of political views on this site and no one is censored for their views. The underlying guideline we have at spiritualportal.net is to avoid all promotion of violence and making corrections for false statements of others and ourselves. Since truth and peaceful spiritual growth are the goals of of most yogis and spiritual aspirants we reserve the rights to place more controversial subjects under our ‘Members only’ areas of our site.

Lastly please refrain from vulgarity and condescending language towards others. This site is used to help us all find kindness in our behavioral attitudes, that all accomplished spiritual aspirants express in their behavior and language.

In regards to art music and pictures;

Thanks, Steve. I think that's the intention of such pictures in the first place: For us to draw spiritual inspiration and insight.  :)

Sometimes I’ve wondered in the last couple years but I think you have brought up a good point and I hope we use pictures in the future with that goal in mind.

Looks like I have found a really great place to come to. I have only managed a sniff, so far, but now I am sitting, having a rest, and will look more.

Thanks a lot, dear Steve.

If you sniff and need ventilation we may need  fumigation. A couple here and there brought some rare scents.   :-[

As I find myself in an introspective stage of healing just now, I hope to learn and grow in a new way. I think your site will be just what the doctor ordered.  Thank you for being here, Steve and company.  Much love and many blessings.

Recently I added this Amendment to our forum because Eric brought the amendment to my attention and I thought it fits in well with our spiritual openness as forum members.

Spiritualportal.net is a center for people I have met who have had spiritual and psychic experiences. Having had many such experiences myself-with many of the people in my life who have as well-it interests me what such experiences mean and where and how they arise.

Thanks Steve

Your welcome.

There are many Masters that know much more about meditating than we do here but we all started from some place so I intend to have a section on how some of us got started and what we did from the beginning. Look under Meditation/Relaxation.

Any other questions you may have about the site?

At times board members may occasionally transfer some threads to a members only location or put a members only thread into the public domain. This is done with the awareness that the thread has become more suitable for a different location.

And what do you think it means to truly stand alone with ones self?

Notice in your question you have included “with ones self.” Our higher self is reflected all around us and in our higher being, as we discriminate to include it in our lives. In all our decisions we should seek the guidance of the divine and spiritual blessings and grace. We require help from family, friends and groups and countries with the same goals. It is best to not concentrate on our weaknesses, reinforcing them and strengthening them and focusing on them to the exclusion of the help around us. While not ignoring our weaknesses we nevertheless, do not make a point of singling them out. The consciousness of our world is dependent on the support it gives to common interests and humane as well as spiritual aspirations. The consciousness and vibration of this site is not dependent on me or anyone else alone, but  rather on friends that have been kind enough to continue to fight and struggle towards common aims.

Paramahansa Yogananda has said many times that environment is stronger then will power and  so we support the strength we have together as friends here at spiritualportal.net. It has always been helpful for me to meditate with other souls and I am grateful to have had that blessing and privilege because the vibration of combined effort brings out the highest in us all.

We  do not stand alone. We gain our support from God and his angels and friends. And we are grateful for that encouragement, kindness in friendship and love from others. Even when we make our decisions we should in list the support of others and God so we are clear in our insights for the trajectory of our life’s journey.

This forum remains an open invitation for anyone interested. At times members here will bicker over worldly matters, but surely there is something greater connecting them and that mystery remains an active interest for all who participate. I apologize if anyone finds the worldly drama and its many narratives off putting and welcome you to create your own flavor here by contributing in ways that cater to your personal interest- be it psychic phenomenon, out of body experiences, ET's or channeled messages.

With your help we can shift the focus back to these fascinating topics.

I have recently extended an invitation to members of astralpulse as their forum is closing down. I was hesitant to share this place, but I think it would be nice to have some refreshing perspectives grace us every once in a while.

Welcome ~ One and All

Thanks Eric. This life is all a passing drama. It will soon be forgotten and all our heroes will fade away, but what we have gained in wisdom and understanding we will take along with us from one life to another and it will help those we encounter and our souls evolution; as we shed more and more garments we’ve worn, that mask our spirit, on our evolutionary journey with our spiritual family from life to life.

Thank you Steve, that's a nice thing to say. I also realize despite us having very different opinions regarding said drama- who or what we are at our core is more similar than we know. That being said, I don't care to get emotionally disturbed by views that are in stark contrast to my own, or language that is offensive to me. Only when that defamatory and disrespectful attitude is shared directly at me, then I find I must take appropriate action. But after careful consideration, I realize just because either of us are invested in a polarizing world view- does not mean we have intentionally or directly attacked each other. Only when we become so identified by those views do we take offense and lash out... And as you've said, it's all a passing drama. This will be a key thing to remember as we continue to experience a shift in societal dynamics and world powers.

Remember, those who are invested in shaping this new world by 2030(originally 2025) have openly admit to investing trillions in narratives, because they realize human psychology is such that we are all weaving our own narratives and have admitted that narratives and emotions can take precedence over facts.

It's important, even if we are invested or feel any way about a particular view- to take time in stillness and connect with our personal power and truth. Have Faith God will illuminate you to exactly what that is- by direct experience with the, "Light of Lights"

Namaste friend.

Do not take the example of another as an excuse for your own wrongdoing.

    Bowl of Saki, August 18, by Hazrat Inayat Khan

I really think at this point we are more in agreement in general then not. I believe we both know we have a couple sleazebags as the last couple of presidents. Perhaps for different reasons, yet still we have a spiritual connection beyond all these worldly issues.

It is most likely that we also have just what our karma and consciousness has meted out to us as a people.
And every nation as well as the present world picture we have been drawn into this - the beginning- of the Dwapara Yuga of the current ascending cycle of a 24,000 year movement of our Sun, with its satellites through the procession of the equinoxes.

It may or may not interest you that when I personally asked Marianne Williamson about the scandals in politics today and redacted statements as well as coverups; She answered, that there are still good people in this country and that she would excuse Julian Assauge for his so called ‘espionage activities’.

For those looking in here; I have mentioned to you in our conversations that what we witness in the world is all a passing phenomenon and 50 years from now there will be another such drama. It is sad to see such pain in worldly events and conditions, yet this site is meant to be a ‘spiritual refuge’  as Eric has pointed out to me the name implies;

Spiritual Portal.

Hi Danton, a very nice welcome, please feel like you are in a small cozy living room to chat with friends.

The forum is packed with sections and subsections so at times difficult to navigate. We are planning to simplify it.

Steve, aka Jitendra, is a long time devotee who received some training by great disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda like Brother Bakhtananda.

I Luca aka Mccoy, have been meditating for over 40 years and only recently had to ease down due to problems with my son.

Yes thanks Danton….it is funny but honestly I really never have the thought of going back now. That lifestyle is so lonely 😭 and now a part of my distant past memories.

Posts like this would generally be put under our humor section. Which is here; http://spiritualportal.net/index.php/board,32.0.html
