Title: Lard
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Nov 28, 2012 11:30 pm
While parked at a rest stop a truck pulled up beside me filled
with pigs. They seemed very unhappy and squeezed
up against the openings in the trailer. It was diificult for
me to listen to their crying. It was as if they knew their
destiny. i had to move away from the truck.
You know pigs are a bright animal. They are often pets
for humans.

Anyhow did you know that lard is pig fat and is used
in our food? If you are sensitive to the rights  of
animals and do not want pig fat mixed with
your food check the ingredients. example:
Many stores and restaurants sell refried
beans mixed with lard.

wow that really sucks
yeah pigs are extremely intelligent
and super cute !
in fact all of life is under the microscope
lately i've been studying plants =)
well, briefly heh
but i've seen things under a microscope enlarged that look simply astounding and my empathy goes out even to the fruits and vegetables we consume. i suppose it is life
still, poor piggies =( mass production/consumption/commercialism is a scary thing

aww...

Lord said: "Man shall have dominion over all the four hoofed beasts!"  ;D  :P

i do thank you elfun for turning me on to crustacean
soup and trilobite sandwiches. It is due to the vices
of friends that we can get a good view  into our reptilian past.
My pet tasmanian devil sets patiently by the table waiting for
hand outs when you are around.   ;)

Earth & Animals Stewardship

Q.What does the bible teach us about being good stewards of the earth and animals? Please include scripture references. I believe with all my heart that God created man to be good stewards of His creation until the day He calls us home. The earth and everything that breathes the air, drinks the water and every other thing, are that creation.

I feel as Christians we should do what we can to preserve and protect God's creation rather than to cause harm and destroy. Then we can also be comforted in knowing we did our best to care for and nurture His glorious creation as He would have done. We need to remember Matthew 10:29 - that even the sparrow does not fall to the ground without His notice. Isn't that awesome? When we stand before God in judgment we do not want Him to ask us why we stood idle and let so many sparrows fall.

Animals were a part of Eden that God called "good" (Gen. 1:25). The Bible affirms from beginning to end that animals have souls. In Genesis 1:20, 24, we find the Hebrew word for "soul" (nephesh) used of animals. This word refers to the appetites and desires of all living things, including the drives for sex and for food. Revelation 8:9 uses the Greek word for "soul" (psuchas) in reference to sea creatures - although this word can sometimes have the meaning of "physical life."

Try the refried beans without lard to avoid gas in mass.  ;D
