Title: kindness

You  never can do a kindness too soon,  for you never know how soon it will be too late.

Sexy doesn't impress me. Smart impresses me, strength of character impresses me. But most of all, i am impressed by kindness. Kindness, I think, comes from learning hard lessons well, from falling and picking yourself up. It comes from surviving failure and loss. It implies an understanding of the human condition, forgives its many flaws and quirks. When I see that in someone, that impresses me.

Sometimes I enjoy giving random acts of kindness to others even if they have mistreated me. It doesn't take that much time and I find it interesting to see the responses. Of course it is not wise to continuously show such kindness to some others because in their state of consciousness-they spread misery to others. If we see this depression and misery in others it can be very contagious. Until someone genuinely makes changes in themselves they can be very sick in relationships.

Some people and governments can be very kind to others and are willing to help even when there are apparent differences. However we see other people and governments that can be cruel and mean in their approach. No matter what our karmic attachmemt we must consider this if we seek not to be hurt and affected by others and remain detached and calm. Sometimes we have to understand that though we have drawn mean people in our lives because of karma it is no longer our karma to endure them should we now show kindness ourselves.

We do not forget kindness but we do learn to forgive and forget those who have tried to use us unkindly. This is the mark of spiritual development.
