Title: Cosmic Energy
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Apr 09, 2015 07:40 am
Living on the 'Word of God' has been a goal of mine thru the years. Most of us here in the states are over weight any how. That has been my observation. Paramahansa Yogananda has said that the food of the future will be cosmic energy and sunlight. Why not make an effort to move in that direction now?

I hope to cover this topic in this thread just started. I hope others will join in.

I just tried that when I was 20. I applied brutal will power and failed miserably, since I lost weight very rapidly and got anemya. Notwithstanding very frequent energization exercises. What I did was to try a raw vegan diet

But now, at 54, I find that I can live with 90% fruit, vegetables and nuts, 2 meals a day, without losing weight.

Sometimes I also feel a bloated stomach, so I might cut more food, and in some days just eat fruit at lunch and salad or veggies at dinner.

Also, a fast on water feels Always beneficial.

One thing for sure, I'm not going to force the body. But now it is far, far easier than it was 34 years ago to live with less gross food.

I'm still doubtful about pure cosmic energy....

I have felt so good today that the thought of food seems to belittle that elation. It seems rather gross rite now.

But i have had similar experiences in nature where i felt a sudden expansion and Oneness with ever thing round about. During such experiences we are filled with the awe of what is around us. Our little bodies are gulped up by a larger body so it is harder to think of feeding this gross body our spirits reside in. We are fed by a heavenly manna.

I used to fast because I read in the SRF lessons that it is a good practice once a week or three days a month. I was bit militant about it at first and looked a bit sullen those days. I had one kriyaban that was a friend say to me; " Your not going to fast again today.. i hope." Those were the days. Lots of discipline at the the expense of some happiness. But really it amounts to control over the body. It comes much easier with time and many times now I just seem to fast naturally.

Anyhow i just think we are going in that direction mccoy. Fasting is another way to rely less on food. A lot of this eating thing is a
matter of habit aand redefining our habits. We find that we have many other energy sources- nature.. the wind.. the sun good company etc. As a race we are just in the habit of overindulgence. It's only made us prisoners.

I remember that Master (Paramahansa Yogananda) said the food of the future will be sun lite, air and cosmic energy. Eating meat has become tantamount to barbarism and is associated with a by-gone era of migrating hunters.

My dependence on 'heavy' foods has continuously decreased over the decades of being a yogi. i can not even imagine having another human being do the dirty work of decapitating one of my fellow creatures. My sensitivity has increased over years of meditating and also to other beings who have consciousness. The kali yuga is over. Let us evolve as spiritual beings. The vibrations of what we put into these bodies and who we choose as friends can't help but affecting our spiritual vibration. Everything changes for the better as we choose kindness in everything we eat do and say.

Most people (in the west, at least) would never dream about butchering their pets and serving the cuts for lunch.

neverhteless, they have no qualms in eating butchered cuts of pigs and piglets, calves, lambs and so on.

I saw calves together with cows. They behave exactly as baby dogs, following with happiness their mothers and cavorting around.
I saw pigs in very small farms, while kept for fattening, preparing to become hams and sausages. They behaved exactly like domestic dogs.

I would make it an educational point in letting kids see such scenes before eating their steaks.

Quite often the breeze in the spring is so refreshing. You can take double breaths in and feel energized. I often feel this about the Sunlite as well. It provides energy to us if we are consciously aware of its rays. The water provides another source of energy. It can really refresh you and make you more receptive to exercise. Various people have different kinds of energy. There are certain friends i can be around that i feel very energized by.

+1 on the energizing power of fresh air, water, sunrays.

Probably the best way to take advantage of such subtle sources of prana would be to cut on gross sources of prana like material food and see what happens.

If excessive weight loss ensues, it means we are not ready yet.

Most probably the older we get the less gross food we need, the more we can depend on subtle prana.
