It has come to my awareness lately that many people, including ourselves have emotional emptiness. How do we deal with it?

Steve, pls define emotional emptiness.

Some definitions i found off the internet that fit a definition of emotional emptiness.

Emotional emptiness is a set up for frustrated and insecure living. a lack of meaning or purpose, a lack of sense of self, emotional numbness or despair.

While Christianity and Western sociologists and psychologists view a state of emptiness as a negative, unwanted condition, in some Eastern philosophies such as Buddhist philosophy and Taoism, emptiness (Śūnyatā) is a realized achievement. Outside of Eastern philosophy, some writers have also suggested that people may use a transitory state of emptiness as a means of liberating themselves for personal growth.

According to the definitions, frustrated and insecure living may apply to us, the other conditions probably not.

Emotional numbness as in having no emotions sounds like a conditions the mentally sick may have, or mental automata.
