Title: Mahasamadhi of Sri Yukteswar.
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Mar 08, 2016 08:59 pm
Today is also particularly magical because of the solar eclipse - a good time for cleansing baths, drumming and meditations on transformation - seeking clarity, intentions, morphing negative energy into positive enerty, etc.  Tomorrow also just happens to be tdeclaring he Mahasamadhi of Sri Yukteswar.  Everyone should spend extra time tonight and tomorrow meditating on those things they wish to materialize in their lives, or asking for guidance.  Would be a shame to waste all of this extra mojo!

 :)

Thank-You so much for reminding us Shannon. We can start in a day ahead of time. i found this picture you painted of our Master. His hair is soooo white!   :D

i would think that a face like that would inspire discipline and respect. Sharp chiseled features Shannon!

This was one of my first paintings; a little crude - am still learning! Sri Yukteswar is my favorite of the Gurus. Here is another portrait by an artist in Oregon - Michael Phelan.  It is really beautiful.

Your painting is appreciated regardless of the time in your art career it was painted! It is interesting how the personality comes out slightly different depending on the artist. Both paintings bring out an interest which is the important thing... especially today! i wonder if you understand why Sri Yukteswar is your favorite Guru? i would say that Babaji and Amma are mine although obviously we are grateful for all of them!

We are very fortunate to have Sri Yukteswar's accounts (chapter 43 ; 'The Resurrection of Sri Yukteswar') of the higher astral and causal realms in the Autobiography of a Yogi! He also told us his whereabouts in Hiranyaloka or 'Illumined Astral Planet.' i have also read the Holy Science so many times. The section on the yugas interests me the most.

Sri Yukteswar was my favourite figure as well, of all the ones depicted in the AOY. I later understood though, by the reading of the Mejda book, that his disciple Yogananda was above him in spiritual realization...

A clash of spiritual titans.
