Some real good points here Brock. i don't know which one is most important. But the point about 'When ever a thought arises don't  be carried away by it' sticks out for me.... since it is a good reminder during meditation. i mean most of us r still at the stage where we r not able to still our thoughts very effectively but we can brush them aside and/or not get carried away by them. It is always refreshing to hear from you and to have a friend that encourages our practice and adds helpful insights! Whoa Mule!

Sometimes when i realize all the wonderful people and places i have been in my life i forget about how it was also very difficult with some of those i have met and recognize that more blessings are pouring down on me rite at this moment. More events that are so meaningful and are part of growth.

I'm glad something in this post resonated with you. I've especially find those six words of advice by Tilopa to be helpful. I think all of these quotes are basically saying the same thing using slightly different words.

Yes well the mind struggles with those six words of advice. i do not think  they always apply but they are helpful to the practice of true meditation. In that sense they do apply a lot. If we had that much control of our thoughts!
