Title: tension
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Jun 06, 2016 06:41 pm
For me it seems that tension is the largest obstacle towards the meditation state. So I find every way possible to remain 😌 relaxed. There is no perfect condition or place to b for our practice but it sure helps to encourage bodily comfort and environmental favorability for experiencing a wonderful meditation.

If I find my legs r cramped or there is noise where I am at i will adjust my legs or take off a tight 👕. I will find a place where it is quieter or put on some quiet music or sounds to mask the noise around me. I also have many ear plugs around me. But if there is noise always around us we may have to consider finding people or places that r more conducive to our practices.

Just like most phenomena in life there is a time that tension is good. For instance it requires an act of will and tension to pick up something heavy or bring energy into your hand or arm. However I am talking 👄 about the absence of tension and the relaxation needed to meditate without there being hindrances.

I believe we all have various body armor that creates tension. The first step is to recognize and be aware of it since it discourages practice.

For me personally it is better to relieve tension if I am meditating alone and do not have to be concerned with my movements disturbing those meditating around me. So as an example if my legs feel cramped or there is hair from my head irritating my face; I will change my position or move the hair rather then enduring a tormented meditation.
