Title: Meditation Upon Awakening
Post by: Steve Hydonus on Jul 22, 2016 03:57 pm
i have found much help by meditating immediately upon awakening. Especially if you have some technique of practice that brings u into the astral spine. This is because we are already interiorized from our stay inside by the rest of sleep. It is easier to keep this energy inside and not externalized by daily distractions and vibrations that take us outward... right after using the restroom upon awakening.

it seems my natural alarm clock is to focus energy through the genitals in order to wake up and be pulled from my slumber

i just spent a bit of time meditating and this great feeling of peace descended upon me. i did not really want to stop but some friends are coming over tonite. The peace was surrounding my upper head region and the body was still. Still feel it surrounding me. It is inspiring because it brings a sense of well being into my activities and the feeling that everything is as it is supposed to be.

That's the best feeling!

i remember reading in the SRF lessons to get out of bed slowly as not to 'shock' the body. The heart is really quite slower during sleep and the body and senses are with drawn that is probably a physiological reason for being able to meditate better at an early hour. It is also a good reason to tense and relax the body parts before getting out of bed so the body is prepared to get up.

I am always thankful about getting enough rest so that I am awakened in the dead of nite to meditate.

It does seem that in the morning the mind is still somewhat refreshed and not distracted by so many activities of the day because of the relative peacefulness of the mind upon awakening it is more conducive to moods associated with meditation.

Wow, shocking to see how much bodily consciousness ruled my mind just two years ago. Today, it's an ongoing battle and thankfully my awareness upon wake is shifted. Remembering specific mantras, like life is a Dream or that I am not just the body or the mind helps with perspective. I find it important to stretch and take slow and focused breaths upon wake now too, not to digest news first thing but if I am going to read to include something of spiritual substance. Meditating in the morning and at night develop good habit which helps with the everyday battle we find ourselves in.

Yeah, I agree.  If I meditate and listen to something Spiritual before I go to sleep, then my sleep, dreams, and waking up are all much better than the times I don't.

I always look forward to being at a friends house and meditating. Every place can be different. I feel like a dog sniffing around checking out the territory. I like waking up early at a friends house and meditating; before others wake up.

Hello Eric not sure if you meant this topic.

Hey Steve, the search function here isn't always the best, I know you've mentioned meditating in the morning somewhere and wanted to include your words in this post. When I type, "morning meditation" in the search function I get 37 pages of results. So I've got a bit of work to do where patience is concerned. :D I am intrigued by this topic and find so much of what we are looking for to be relayed by the Masters...

And from the Golden Hour;

Waking up in the middle of the nite or right before dawn often gives you that silence you look for in meditation.
The spiritual forces are stronger at the golden hour at dusk and dawn.

Heyyyy! Here it is, here it is! At least one of the many. Nice post on the golden hour- I unintentionally woke up during this time and think I heard some astral sounds trying to fall back asleep. There was an unseen presence felt behind me that I'd describe as an, "alien intelligence" trying to enter/communicate. I shooed it away but heard some metal gyrating echo-type sound before being able to fall back asleep. ??? As for trying to meditate upon wake... I will have to keep practicing. I tried for the first time in a while today and didn't get far. I observed my body waking up, the stomach making all of its interesting noises and then the dogs saw a cat in the backyard and well, that was the end of that. :D :D Thanks for the bump!
Have an awesome day my dude!  8)
