I can't tell if he's lying or just reading websites like infowars. Either way, it's petty stuff.

Steve, this is old news and it's not fake. This article was written before Spicers conference held just today and could use a follow up.

It was Friday or Saturday Spicer gave a preliminary conference to give some details before getting into anything come Monday. Earlier this morning Spicer took question after question and surprisingly only a few(i think just one actually) commented on this petty numbers game... instead reporters asked REAL questions about real issues.

The problem here was the attempt STARTED by the media to defame Trump by suggesting not many showed to his inauguration and then later arguing over the number of attendees rather then focusing on the issues Spicer reported from that very same "preliminary" conference. Like how some members of the democratic party worked to delay Pompeo- or how Trump is looking to improve relations between Canada and Mexico.

Spicers upset not only comes from this one attack but a false tweet made by a "reputable" reporter making a racially charged suggestion by saying President Trump removed the bust of Martin Luther King from his office. This was indeed fake news and even after the reporter gave a half-assed apology he then blamed the incident on someone other than himself. Even though the numbers reported may have been a little off base from the information received, admitted later by Spicer(who gave a better apology then the TIME magazine reporter) it is still believed this is one of the largest inauguration's ever witnessed. The reports don't mention the weather that day or the angry protesters who made meat shields to stop people from getting in(spreading violence and even dividing families). People that weren't there were watching world wide through other means.

Still- why focus on this GARBAGE? Who cares how many people showed up or didn't? This is the kind of crap that entices people to react in a less then humane manner. Focusing on this will plague your mind and spreading its disease is the very reason we have celebrities like Madonna saying she wishes to blow up the white house. Spicers message that day made it very clear that he, Trump and many others are tired of these petty attempts that aim to divide us. It's the media that suggest Trump is racist, homophobic and a bigot. This violence is proof that, despite not knowing Trump, people will give into the narrative the media would have you believe.

I was very pleased to witness reporters today acting maturely and questioning things that matter. I believe it's what Spicer was really asking for in the first place. He said the media will be held accountable for their actions just as it is expected he too should be held accountable for his. Trumps speech that day was one that will be remembered. Whether you liked it or not, he said it was his mission to give the government back to its people- no matter what side you stand on. Asking reporters to report fairly and responsibly is one way to get us to talk to one another.

The biggest challenge I see now is respecting your neighbors and maintaining the peace. Focusing on this junk however is becoming very sad and you may find yourself less patient or more irritable because of it. We don't have to agree on views or whether you like Trump or not but lets cut the crap and focus on real issues... In other news, "Mad dogg" Mattis oversaw 31 airstrikes made against ISIS Saturday.
Or would you like to spend your time focusing on whose crowd size is bigger? I'm directing this part not to one person but to those who are hung up over something so trivial yet this may be their tipping point to go out and commit a violent act.

No wonder people think Trump is a rascist he lived through out his term by defaming one of the greatest black men of our time; Obama and he further tried to defame Lewis

'The United States’ first black president has been pilloried and savaged by bizarre claims that he is a secret Muslim, hates white people, is not eligible to be president because he was born in another country, or is going to use the Affordable Care Act to “oppress” white people.' Furthermore his supporters show the same racial slurs and 'John Birch'  type social comments about
any one who disagree with their social values. They also react angrily and violently to those who peacefully disagree.

Title: God Bless =)

Trump isn't a racist because he supported the claim made against Obama's fake birth certificate. It was almost a 5 year affair where a forensic investigation recently confirmed the birth certificate as a FAKE. Also, Trump is not a racist to defend himself against the defamation STARTED by Lewis. According to your logic, Lewis is racist for calling Trump illegitimate.
Steve I pray for you and hope we both find some good R&R. I am going to unplug from this madness because it's getting ridiculous. Please read what DD has said... This is PETTY. And DD, it's good to see you posting again. =) Peace friends. GOD BLESS AMERICA, I AM feeling more patriotic! =)

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/04/27/obama.birth.certificate/index.html

Trump continued to lie and defame black people as evidenced above.

'The administration had to make a special request from the state of Hawaii to get the long-form certificate released, White House legal counsel Bob Bauer said. Typically, the state only releases the shorter, computer-generated live birth certification when people request such documentation.'

Title: ...?
Post by: tides2dust on Jan 24, 2017 06:44 am
Steve, is this really your proof of racism ????

Here in that entire article posted by CNN from 2011 are the only mentions of Trump:

Pfeiffer told reporters that the birther debate has been politically damaging to the Republican Party. Regardless, the issue remains potent in GOP circles. Potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump recently seized on the issue, saying he had doubts about the president's background.
Following the White House's release of the long-form certificate, Trump told reporters in New Hampshire that he is "very proud" of himself for helping to bring about the release of the document.
Trump stands by "birther" claims
"I've accomplished something nobody else was able to accomplish," Trump said. "I'd want to look at (the birth certificate), but I hope it's true so that we can get on to much more important matters."
Obama "should have (released the certificate) a long, long time ago," he said.
Trump, a billionaire business tycoon and reality television star, blamed the media for repeatedly bringing up the issue. Trump, however, has frequently raised questions about Obama's birthplace during his climb in recent GOP primary polls.

I don't think you have any verifiable proof Trump is a racist and this is getting sad. Why even spend so much energy on this anymore? I just don't get it.. Campaigns have always been divisive and it's a sad affair but this doesn't make Trump racist... okay I really better go now. I can't seem to get through to you. Good night

"He doesn't have a birth certificate. He may have one, but there's something on that, maybe religion, maybe it says he is a Muslim," Trump told Fox News in 2011. "I don't know. Maybe he doesn't want that."
His accusations reached such a high decibel level that in April 2011, Obama appeared in the White House briefing room to denounce Trump and release the long-form version of his birth certificate.

The threads topic is Tumps fake news Eric. Do not confuse the issue with rascism. It is clear why people think it with all his derogatory and defaming comments he has made about Obama but this issue is much worst then racism. It is using false news for defamation of character. It is very sad indeed that defamation of character in the United States is rewarded by presidency. Defamation of character is treachery. We have a treacherous president in Donald Trump.

And during a candidate forum in Iowa earlier this year, when asked about Obama's commitment to the United States, Trump replied, "I don't know if he loves America."

The threads topic is Tumps fake news Eric... It is using false news for defamation of character... We have a treacherous president in Donald Trump.

Yes I am confused... so you post attacks on Trump at the, spiritual portal?? Aren't you doing the same thing you're against?? You know, using false news to defame a man??

The examples/claims you've shared so far are either false or of little importance. I thought I made good points against the inauguration crowd size garbage but it was only ignored. It's like you metaphorically closed your ears and went "La la la racist! La la birth certificate! Ahhh treacherous!"

Seems I can't drop it... can't sleep either... I'm just confused why I come to a meditation forum to watch you engage in the very thing you preach as treacherous action... you aren't even running for president  :D Imagine if I had started threads here that constantly worked to belittle and insult Obama. I haven't done any of that thank god.

No offense Steve, just seems a little hypocritical.

Title: Re: Fake News; the Trump Lies

There is one very important difference this news is real. I am talking about the reality of Trumpsters lies and defamation of character which is consistent with the the spiritualportals quest for the truth. We must separate the liars from the truth seekers. Trump is a sociopathic liar -without a doubt - and what's worst he is also a treacherous defamator of character. So Lewis is right he is not a legitimate leader of the United States. We do not need a man who has such character and he is a awful example to our nation.

Title: so far so good with Trump presidency. Help me understand your logic
Post by: tides2dust on Jan 24, 2017 10:33 am
Yes, the argument over the crowd size at the inauguration was a real argument as petty as it was. Although I argue we look at the greater picture in this "quest for truth" you instead focus on the belief Trump really is racist which is not real. Yes the claim that Obamas birth certificate was fake is real and was proven that it was fake. What's not real, or thus far lacking in sufficient evidence are your unsavory claims that Trump are all these negative things you make him to be. You may eventually find some better ammunition but at what point is justifying your bias to the man quest for spiritual truth? So far it's been name calling and poor examples. Would you like it if your forum turned into only political discussion where purpose is to make derragatory comments about politicians(including the ones you hold so dear) or would you like to discuss something of more substance- like how to work together despite opposing views? Or why do we have such ill informed protestors rioting the streets? Have you let someone of greater material status and wealth take away your inner peace? These are perhaps the type of questions to ask in this quest for "truth." So far you haven't asked questions, you've only made insults.

I'm going to post a comment by Steve Long, retired physicist, because it appears to be a pretty objective one. It rises some serious concerns though.

Quote
To an objective observer, it is pretty clear that Trump is bombastically exaggerating and the media is insidiously minimizing. Trump's victory seemingly had a lot to do with a sizeable portion of the electorate simply disregarding the media's negative assertions about Trump. In all probability, that is due to long-developing disgust with the media's twisting of the news ("facts") by devious presentation techniques as a form of advocacy for political goals that have some undesirable side-effects ("unintended consequences").

The results are scary. I am not calling Trump "Hitler" or his supporters "Nazi's", but the same social forces that resulted in those things are being used as political tools in the U.S., today. The Germans clearly had some legitimate gripes about their situation following WW-I, and Hitler was able to use those, wrapped in nationalistic/racial "patriotism" to rise to power. Mussolini campaigned on “making the trains run on-time,” much like Trump’s infrastructure promises.  The parallels are too striking to be ignored.  BUT, the U.S. today is NOT Germany in the 1930s.

There are many legitimate gripes that the Trump supporters need to have addressed.  And, there are many legitimate gripes that the Clinton supporters need to have addressed.  The tragic thing is that they could BOTH be addressed effectively, IF we could work together to do it.  But, BOTH political parties seem more interested in using these gripes to further their efforts to obtain/retain power than actually serving the citizens of all persuasions.  Their tactics of challenging the ethics of each others’ supporters are tearing the country apart.

We on this discussion group have been seeing a small piece of this negative trend in dishonest rhetoric vs objective debate for some time.  For example, it is nearly impossible to have an objective discussion on climate, because the participants get lumped into “sides” that are either “deniers” of change or “true believers” of non-validated models.  People not willingly in either camp tend to keep their heads down, because speaking up gets them “classified” and opposed on the basis of the classification, rather than evaluated on what they really know and think and are trying to say.

The only solution I can envision to this problem is for the real journalist media to stop trying to compete with “social media” for “ratings” and, instead, provide a contrast by being (becoming again) a credible purveyor of objective news and discourse.  Our Constitution gives the media special protection and status because we count on them to provide that social service.  But, at this time, they are disappointingly lacking in their fulfillment of our expectations of them.

What proof does anyone have that Obama's Birth certificate was fake. It was obtained by the records department in Hawaii where he was born. It was posted on the wall of the white house and is easily seen in the link I gave you.

Furthermore Trump lied about his support of the Iraq war. He initially supported it and then he said he did not.

The point is this. Trump released fake news about his inauguration.

Thanks for the input mccoy. I have read it once and must read it again.

See Obama's Birth certificate below.

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/POLITICS/04/27/obama.birth.certificate/index.html

We must ask this question: why is it that Donald Trumpster demands that he sees a birth certificate yet will not show his tax records. What criminal activity does he have to hide?

Trump lied about his inauguration and calls it alternative facts.

Steve, you're really starting to agitate me. I can respond in kind or I can simply leave. It's sad what you're doing though. Here is proof of Obamas fake birth certificate,

SHERIFF'S PROBE FINDS OBAMA BIRTH CERTIFICATE 'FAKE'
Years of forensics investigation confirmed 'birther' suspicions right all along
Published: 12/15/2016 at 6:09 PM

A years-long forensics investigation into the computer image of the long-form Hawaiian birth certificate image that Barack Obama released during a White House news conference during his first term and presented to the American people as an official government document concluded it is “fake.”

Corsi said Mike Zullo, head of the Cold Case Posse, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio “have done the United States a heroic service demonstrating by forensic analysis that the long form birth certificate produced in a White House news conference on April 27, 2011, as Barack Obama’s authentic birth certificate is a forgery.”

“The nine points of forgery between the Johanna Ah’nee birth certificate and Obama’s [long-form birth certificate] prove convincingly that the Ah’nee birth certificate was the source document from which the Obama LFBC was created.”

“That President Obama’s birth certificate is fake, as proven now by a legitimate law enforcement examination raises serious questions that high crimes and misdemeanors have been committed at the highest level of government. The clear conclusion is that the Obama presidency may have been illegitimate, having violated Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution. Impeachment procedures may be required, even if those procedures are conducted after Obama leaves office.”

Once again this article says Trumps biggest concern was the crowd size when that's simply untrue- it's the media whose original intent was to belittle Trumps inauguration and if you bother to read my initial response rather then blindly regurgitating this BS you will see the BIGGER PICTURE.

Title: Re: Fake News; the Trump Lies

Mccoy I reread your article. I do not see how he thinks these forces (Clinton and Trump) can work together. The Republicans tried to block everything that Obama did during his term with one actually saying 'Is shutting down the government actually bad'? How can you work together with a President that wants to shut down four of the most important Environmental agencies and puts people in charge of agencies who think those agencies they are appointed to should be shut down or have tried to sue them for years? How can you work together with someone who uses double think as a basis for his agenda....That is 'it is not right to have non credible news yet I myself may release the most non credible news of all.' This is quite like the S.S. gustapo and Adolf Hitler as expressed in your article. How can a practical approach which bridges differences arrise when a leader and his associates are dead set on environmental and ecological disaster in the name of short term economic advantages to the wealthy?

The acceptance of or mental capacity to accept contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time, especially as a result of political indoctrination is an integral part of the Trump approach.

"So Trump comes along, and Trump is, among many other qualities, a pathological liar."

Bernie Sanders

One of Trumps biggest lies he told the public is that he would make Mexico pay for the wall to keep illegal immigrants out. But we should realize he was never for the common working man. He has always been for the rich as is proven by his appointees for his cabinet and organizational   government positions.... all rich friends. And now he will not be able to get the Mexicans to pay off for the wall so who will he give the bill to?   That's rite friends ....we will get the bill in the form of tariffs that will raise all prices coming into this nation. So not only did he lie about cleaning the swamp up but he lied to you and me about who was going to pay for the wall.

I think they are thinking too small. We should build a dome and it should cover the whole country. That way we can just turn the US into big prison and the dome will help shield of from the climate change. We don't even need to pay for the wall. We have one of the largest prison populations around, which will continue to flourish under Sessions. He can get chain gangs to build the dome. Slave labor baby!

Let's make it great...again?

Coming from your neck of the woods my thought would be that you know more about Sessions then we do. But it is definitely true that we have about the largest prison population per capita in the world. Something just smells pretty ill about that. Yet people still holler about law and order. What is it that is really sick about the richest nation in the world having the largest prison population? i would say that much of it has to do with what you have just mentioned above: Slave Labor.... and the huge disproportion of wealth in the United Clones of America that is being perpetuated and encouraged further by the Tumpster Gangsters. We will eventually find that his type of racketeering will ensnare this country in social and ecological issues for years to come. The new chain gangs and slave labor are the middle class and specifically the poor of this country which Trump is further disenfranchising. His discrimination is more about class warfare then any race issue which Eric continuously brings up in his posts.

It is not my question but since you brought it up.... do we justify genocide and slavery by its prevalence? All these countries are like dominoes falling compared to this fact which Trump is perpetuating. The wealthiest nation in the world has the most prisoners:

Prison population per capita;

The United States has the highest prison population (2,228,424) and the second highest documented incarceration rate in the world (707 per 100,000 population), Seychelles has the highest (868 per 100,000).

There is something very sick about this and it smells like garbage that the wealthy of this nation under Trump are feeding the common person and at the same time taking the wealth for themselves as robbers. Lets wake up to a changing world with different challenges. Not concentrate on bygones. Slavery has a new name in most 'developing' nations today it is called economic slavery and genocide is now committed with chemical weapons as we see in the case of Assad and religious intolerance as seen in the case of Issis. Who is standing up against these social pathologies... surely not Trump who further divides the social classes of this nation and does not seem appalled by the vagrant human rights issues confronting the world.

It is merely a fact Eric. If you would like i can put together all the posts you have put up about race. This is a distraction perpetuated by In FoWars and conservative media to let us forget the fact that there are about 60 million people in this country living in poverty. You may not be in the mood but yet you did reply. If you find these issues tiresome why do you engage in them?

My words should be slanderous. But again let me remind you that i have not used any form of derogatory talk towards you and for me to come back and tell you what your words are is, as i mentioned before, could very easily lead to to a downward spiral between us. We are dealing with a sociopath as a leader of the free world. He has absolutely no concern for the common person.... his health care... his social security check... his price for food... his wages.  He is arrogant and flaunts wealth in bombast terms. This man has proven time and time again he is for one group of people that is the wealthiest one percent of the nation and he is a thief and a liar and should be put in prison for the ecological disaster that he is wreaking on mankind. This man is nothing less then the face of Satan working out his diabolical will in this nation. At one time Eric, you said that we should give this man a chance. He has already proven to be worst then we imagined and he is barely in office.

There is no wrong to think about class warfare. No man actually earns 8 billion dollars. No Trump did not earn it. He stole it. He robbed his workers and the public and used crooked business deals to get it. He is a thief. He should be imprisoned. His words about others are now coming back to haunt him and they will never stop until he is taken from power.

This (see link below) is an article about Sessions and what his views are on crime. As you can see he represents harsher sentencing and more prison terms to so called offenders. This is the face of the fact that the United States has more prisoners then any country in the world. This is Trumps appointed attorney general.  Eric you mention that some of my comments are 'shallow'. Let us give this subject some deep thought. Why is it that the wealthiest nation in the world has the the most prisoners? It should become evident that the main reason is because of disparity of wealth in this nation. Trump and his appointees will only exasperate this issue.

i do believe that it is a topic that concerns you greatly and you have brought it up many times on the forum with regular continuity and i do not see this as an exaggeration or an offensive comment. Why you would find it offensive is beyond me. Perhaps it is an issue that you have encountered in your life a lot. How am i to know? Maybe it is because we live on two sides of the country. Racism seems to be a concern of the distant past where i live.  i just think its relevancy in today's world has waned compared to economic disparity which you found not so important. i will quote you here: "there is also a hypocrisy and wrong thinking to the class warfare you're describing. your words are slanderous and shallow.." Why is it that i find little offense in your words but you call me out on my observation? Am i walking on egg shells here but you seem to be able to walk quite heavily without me taking any offense? i do not not find it irritating. Irritation is something we learn to rise above because of meditation and spiritual practice. i am just curious as to why the race issue has been a concern in your life. i have seen racial issues in my life as well. Yet i have seen much much more poverty in life.

It seems that every where i turn people are looking for ways to eat and sustain a living. This is a reoccurring phenomena in my observations: People on street corners with signs saying they would work for food and were hungry without a home and can't feed their kids, people gaining weight because they can not afford healthy food, people unable to pay their bills, people begging at my door. i spent hours walking with people freezing in the Detroit winters living on the streets and driving people places because they couldn't get out of the city and they were hungry and cold. People sleeping on the pavement of the sidewalk. Helped people at rest stops who couldn't afford a meal were with their wife and couldn't even help her. etc. etc. Really if this were not the case i would not have such a strong aversion for the policies of Donald Trump which further plunge the poor into despair and give little hope to the diminishing middle class. There are 60 million people in this country in poverty. How can i be proud of a president that has little or no concern for them? We have a very selfish man that is leading our nation  that is very insensitive to the needs of others.

It is not my question but since you brought it up.... do we justify genocide and slavery by its prevalence? All these countries are like dominoes falling compared to this fact which Trump is perpetuating. The wealthiest nation in the world has the most prisoners:

Prison population per capita;

It's (banally) true that the US didn't invent genocide or slavery. The above is what matters, though. And how many of those inmates are black? You'll find a large number of them. How many more are non-violent offenders? And How does Trump address this long-standing issue? He hires Jeff Sessions, a good ol mint julep drinkin' southernah, and says he wants to be the President of "law and ordah." That sounds like code for lock up the niggers and potheads and anyone else who isn't a good capitalist or a good Christian slave.

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. - Ephesians 6:5

Under Sessions' leadership, line prosecutors now will be emboldened to pile on charges (and thus prison terms) for federal drug defendants. This means more men and women convicted of non-violent crimes will face longer prison sentences at a time when our federal prisons are already overcrowded, and when the Bureau of Prisons' budget is already straining to fund other, vital Justice Department priorities-like those of victims' rights groups. Just as the nation is turning away from mass incarceration, and discovering that crime rates can go down along with incarceration rates, Attorney General Sessions is poised to reverse course. He already made it clear with his opposition to bipartisan sentencing reform last year that he has little compassion or empathy for the families affected by the enforcement of unduly harsh sentencing laws. He has also made this clear with his adamant and relentless opposition to presidential clemency, even in cases of such manifest injustice as to shock the conscience. A whole new generation of men and women, and their families, will be doomed to serve unreasonably long prison terms.

President Donald Trump told a fanciful little tale Tuesday about Air Force One being denied landing rights in the Philippines during a trip by his predecessor because bilateral relations were so bad. That didn’t happen, The Associated Press reports.

Before boarding the plane in Manila to come home, Trump bragged to the press that he’s pushed relations with the Philippines to new heights. “And as you know, we were having a lot of problems with the Philippines,” he said. “The relationship with the past administration was horrible... You know what happened. Many of you were there, and you never got to land. The plane came close but it didn’t land.”

That prompted a lot of head-scratching. President Barack Obama last visited the Philippines in November 2015, arriving in Manila from Turkey. There were no problems with landing the plane. Obama used the visit to announce the U.S. was transferring two ships to the Philippine Navy.

Perhaps Trump was referring erroneously to Obama’s aborted meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte? In September 2016, Obama abruptly canceled a meeting with the new Philippines leader in Laos after Duterte called him an obscene name. Duterte was warning Obama not to speak with him about the brutality of his crackdown on the illegal drug trade. Obama went ahead with his Laos trip, meeting other leaders.

The "Associated Press". Yes let me trust whatever they say, gee that's smart.

He lies, Clinton lies, Obama lies, they all lie. The media, government, cops, whatever.

How can you draw conclusions?

You have a choice. You can discriminate fact from fiction or blame everyone for being liars. But doing so puts oneself in the same position because our national leaders are a reflection of the peoples consciousness of a nation.

The national leaders may be a reflection of the peoples consciousness of a nation, but not mine.

The choice seems clear to me: to trust or not.

I for one will not fall for it. Even NK and NASA reports, while some of it may be true, is all of it?

You may have a personal vendetta against some $sshole in power, and that's how you roll. Don't expect others to drown in that line of thinking.

We have done quite well in our choice of leaders. Unfortunately
that is not true now. The more and more is brought to light about our present people in power the less and less chance of them being elected again.

The species will survive and adapt as it always has, I can't think of any political leaders that were well done by choosing, who are they?

If current leader is not elected again, it will just be some other bimbo. When has that not happened?

Gandhi is not a typical case, and has nothing to do with leaders of this country, and many others. But you already knew that.

Lincoln and Washington two other leaders of this nation who were liars according to u rite?

Did you know either of them personally?

Did we have any media coverage of scandalous behavior as we do now?

Do you trust people who lived years ago that you never knew but because you haven't read any negative yelp reviews, they're stain free?

Remember that Gandhi slept between 2 teen girls, supposedly as an innocent test of himself. There are other stories of his sexual habits as well. If he lived now and did something like that, he would be done. I'm not saying he didn't do great things as did Lincoln and Washington, but truthful butterflies? Not so sure.

Look this is just an extension of some sort of pissed off-edness with trump. That's it. Digressing and spiraling the thread only distracts this fact. There is nothing that can be done with this president, he has the power. He will likely do more crap to piss you off even more. But then when he's out of office after his term, and a new one comes in, we'll still have tax issues, so called global warming issues, deficit, wealth inequality, immigrant crap, and you name it. You can march against stuff all you like until you move on, but likely at this point, it won't accomplish anything. Using the power of thought thru meditation or other means likely accomplishes what you need at a level that far surpasses.

You may think im 'pisssd off' but that does not mean i am. Your perception of my so called reaction to the present power structure is pure conjecture on your part but does not present a positive or convincing assessment of my views or their expression. There is a big difference between this president and the preceding one. This one is working against the earth. This one is creating more wealth inequality. It is u who believes nothing can be done. You have said all our leaders were liars. I merely responded to your statement with evidence to the contrary....no digression. U just feel justified in your negativity about the ability to do anything about having a liar and psychopath as a president. I believe something can be done.

There is no difference between presidents. They all have made bad decisions and choices.

You do digress, you skirt issues and only address things that you want to.

And what can be done? Will you answer that or will you skirt?
