Title: Meditation takes the edge off
Post by: Steve Hydonus on Apr 03, 2017 07:26 am
Recently I have found that meditation takes the edge off our encounters: meaning that we learn how to talk and communicate more kindly because of our state of awareness of our actions and their consequences.

I wonder if this helps with people you're infatuated with.

I am beginning to feel it is the only curable action to thwarting pesky samskaras. As well, it begins to feel like the only refuge for the Soul both as a safe haven and liberator. Some days I feel the need to envision light and Love, other days I pray to be shown the way and quiet my mind with the belief that God is in control. Suddenly we start to see the pull of thoughts- we don't feel as bound to pleasure or pain but through meditation we begin to understand, there is such a state where pleasure or pain no longer rules our lives. Taking the edge off is putting it lightly. It can really save us from the entrapment's we often fall prey to.

I saw the title to this thread last night and it has been with me all day today, inspiring me to meditate when I got home from work.

Thank you friend!
