Title: Egotistical People
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Oct 03, 2017 10:47 pm
Sometime on our spiritual journey we will find that we notice the egotistical behavior of ourselves and others around us and our leaders. It becomes an ugly quality and not very unattractive spiritually speaking. When we start noticing it in others we want to get away from them and we find that it adds turmoil to our own lives as well. Without an understanding of what enlightenment is or how the ego stands in the way of spiritual understanding, our spiritual growth is very limited in scope. Today we even see great ego in our leaders. They provide no spiritual inspiration to us at all.

When I think of Amma or other spiritual teachers I don't think they feel the need to run away from an egotistical persons. I believe one naturally adopts more of a parental role the closer they draw to enlightenment. I imagine an enlightened person wouldn't even describe having ego as an ugly quality despite wanting to break away from it at one point in their life. I'm just spitballing, I am on the lowest of low in the rungs of Spiritual Living but I think the process itself is something to appreciate. Looking back our life happens in the blink of an eye, we're so tiny in this 'little play' and even world leaders we don't agree with can inspire us along our journey.

Actually these type of Masters do not run away at all but rather tackle the ego of their disciples so that the light can show thru and awareness of divinity can be born. This is perhaps their main purpose. However i do not remember using the words 'runaway' anyhow so i am not sure if you are even responding to my entry. i mentioned getting away from egotistical persons. If we have an ability to have more spiritual vibrations and people around us by all means we should be with them instead of egotistical people. It is quite important to build a 'hedge' and protect our spiritual aspirations.

Some world leaders are evil in their actions and they are deep in maya. They lead their citizens towards darkness and thier country to despair and a fallen state. Had people recognized the ignorance of such leaders they may have done something about it instead of learning the hard way. Yet even when evil lurks in the hearts and minds of such leaders there are those who continually fight for justice and a vision that incorporates the need to include everyone and our planet in that vision not just a selfish privileged few.
