Title: Darshan; the most wonderful days of our lives.
Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on May 11, 2018 03:20 am
Darshan or the touch and blessings of a holy person can give upliftment and healing. I have experienced this in the presence of Amma and at the crypt of Paramahansa Yogananda.

[40] Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed him, for they were all expecting him. [41] Then a man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue, came and fell at Jesus' feet, pleading with him to come to his house [42] because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying.

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. [43] And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. [44] She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

[45] "Who touched me?" Jesus asked.

When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you."

[46] But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."

[47] Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. [48] Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

The miracle of darshan. What a blessing to be in the presence of self realized soul! These people are so spontaneous.

Saying, your faith has healed you is extremely insightful and inspirational
Thank you for sharing this wisdom...

Kind Regards

Yes, one can see her love and her giving of her spirit in the link you sent ~ She is blessing.  From the comments, one can see that people don't forget her.

Yes, one can see her love and her giving of her spirit in the link you sent ~ She is blessing.  From the comments, one can see that people don't forget her.

I remember being in Toronto seeing Amma. She was busy giving darshan all nite long . Suddenly early in the morning she surprised everyone in the auditorium by standing up and leaving the stage with it crowded to brimming. Everyone was quite surprised and so stunned that no one even pressed in on her. I think people just wondered what she was doing and her sudden change of routine startled everyone into a deafening silence.

She crossed the huge room and went to a man who was a paraplegic lying on a hospital type bed that had been wheeled into the auditorium. She had a couple of large sponges 🧽 and a container full of water someone handed her. She put moisture on the sponge and proceeded  to wipe the man’s face and any body  part exposed. I still recall the man’s blissful bright face at being under Amma’s presence, care and love. After a few minutes she turned around and walked back to the stage, sat in her chair and proceeded to give blessings to each person in the auditorium one by one into the morning hours.

Joy they don’t forget her only, they often remember, relive and still feel the experiences she could give to others as a mother of compassion and love.

Approximately at the 11 minute marker Amma answers a devotees question about darshan and the meaning of ‘the Hug’ . A monk translates her answer.

There is really no experience in this world like the blessings and transcendental love a Saint or Master can give us if just once we are receptive. It is an experience that changes and transforms you for life and can again because that love is always there. It just takes opening up to it from any physical or time’s distance.
