Title: Whispers from Spirit
Post by: guest88 on Jul 29, 2019 01:41 am
I'd like to chronicle our oceanic moments where thoughts align with the external world around us. Steve, this happened to you recently with the bowl of Saki. Would you believe a crow just flew up to me?  ;D God is in all things. God is greater than we know and how he uses his creation is not easily understood. Sometimes, there are messages that acknowledge an inner guidance and our truer selves. Sometimes I find the messages I read from very different sources are connected. For example...

Today's wisdom shared by Inayat Khan speaks to me about the dissolution of the Ego.

"Can anyone kill life? If there is any death, it is that of death itself, for life will not die. Someone went to a Sufi with a question. He said, 'I have been puzzling for many, many years and reading books, and I have not been able to find a definite answer. Tell me what happens after death?' The Sufi replied, 'Please ask this question of someone who will die. I am going to live.' The idea is that there is one sky which is our own being; in other words, we can call it an accommodation. What has taken possession of this accommodation? A deluded ego that says, 'I.' It is deluded by this body and mind and it has called itself an individual. When a man has a ragged coat he says, 'I am poor'. In reality his coat is poor, not he. What this capacity or accommodation contains is that which becomes his knowledge, his realization, and it is that which limits him. It forms that limitation which is the tragedy of every soul."
- Pir-o-Murshid Inayat Khan

Simultaneously I am drawn to Anandamayi Ma and find her quotes to be revealing the same message, that all is God- All Is according to Him right.

“When in spite of all efforts one fails to catch a train, does this not make it clear from where all one's movements are being directed? Whatever is to happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time, is all fixed by Him... His arrangements are perfect”
- Anandamayi Ma

“Where God may place you at anytime and under whatever circumstances , recollect that it is all for the best .
Endeavour to go through life leaving your burdens in His hands .
He is the Preserver ,
He is the Guide ,
He is all in all .”
- Anandamayi Ma

"Always bear this in mind: Everything is in God's hands, and you are His tool to be used by Him as He pleases. Try to grasp the significance of 'all is His'. and you will immediately feel free from all burdens. What will be the result of your surrender to Him? None will seem alien, all will be your very own Self."
- Anandamayi Ma

And these messages are almost always supported by some mirroring/symbolic force like repeating numbers- what is this unseen intelligence manipulating the world around us to communicate and acknowledge what is happening within? All is One.

... So have you any whispers from Spirit? Spirit is alive, spirit is now and He is guiding us to realization. To see Him here and now is the greatest joy we can endeavor upon. I also think if we attain this state, regularly, we may be able to reach out to those masters who are no longer physically incarnate... I know now they live on... Christ, Yogananda, Inayat Khan, Anandamayi Ma... They live still, they made the endeavor while they were here... We can do this too.

It’s rather strange how we are meant to remember certain phrases that were said to us in life as a password to fiuther understanding and the usernames all work; All the gurus and Masters who have come here and gone. I remember hearing my boss telling me something when I was working in mental health. I said to her that I had heard her say it before in a different way. She said if I can’t get thru in one way I will use another. And so it is with God’s embasaries as gurus and Masters. The message may have to be delivered in many different packages and personages until we get the lesson behind it.

Yes I find what you say to be true but still have not extracted myself from the anxiety, tension and worry that surrounds the events in life situations that are similar to the failure to catch a train in Anandamayi Ma’s story. Their still remains this worry about the consequences of such presentaments. This worry can poison meditation with a dark cloud of impending doom. It is yet a mood to conquer.

Hmmm....

Steve,

I've had another oceanic moment, whispers from spirit, like someone taking a highlighter to note important text... I could have sworn I read more from your original reply which I found to be acknowledging the very teachings I am to share below... I hope this reflects some semblance to your own thoughts from earlier today.

Last night I was watching a video called Satsang with Anandamayi Ma and the part that stood out to me was reference to the Gita where Krishna said,

"Whenever there is a decay of righteousness and a rise of unrighteousness then I embody myself for the protection of the Good, for the destruction of the wicked and for the establishment of righteousness, I am born, age after age."

Anandamayi Ma has said,

"I exist before there is any creation, duration or dissolution of the World. I am conditioned as well as unconditioned. I am neither infinite nor confined within limits, I am both at the same time. And though the dance of creation changes around me, in the hall of eternity, I shall be the same."

And this morning I woke up to today's wisdom from Hazrat Inayat Khan, where he also quotes the Gita...

"It is sometimes asked why, if God is all-pervading, there is need of the special manifestation of a messenger such as Krishna, Buddha, or Jesus. The answer is given in the words of the Bhagavad-Gita where Shri Krishna says, 'When Dharma is hindered, then I am born.' This means that a manifestation, which the people recognize as a savior or messenger, always comes when the necessity arises. ... In all ages and to all peoples the message of God has been sent. And that message has been kept by those who received it in the form of a scripture, and the name of the messenger and his honor have been held high by those who have followed that particular message. No matter at what time in the history of the world the message came, one thing is sure: that it has always penetrated the heart of man and left its impression and its influence, ever multiplying and spreading, proving it to be the message of God. ... Since it is the message of God, whenever it comes it is from the same source. When it came a thousand years ago it was His message; when it came a hundred years ago it was His message; and if it came today it would be also His message."

I am experiencing heavy lessons on this Oneness and how to pass through the gate of death and yet still live, which is also wisdom shared by Gurunath just today. So you see, this intelligence(LOVE) is working in harmony from different sources, highlighting the important parts of this journey/unfolding.

Today a woman from work called me Cupid.
Unbeknownst to me, a lesson had been planted by Spirit, where the legend of Cupid and Psyche were relayed to me later in the evening. Spirit has found a way to align the teachings from Hazrat Inayat Khan to my reality- where daily messages from a particular website are connecting to things happening around me, outside of my control.

In this instance, the woman called me Cupid and later today I read the bowl of saki from wahiduddins website and found this myth being relayed... I may share this with my coworker:

Quote
In the story of Cupid and Psyche we are told that Venus sent Cupid on earth to teach the lesson of love, to the heart that knew not love, and so Cupid came and kindled love in the heart of Psyche, and Cupid and Psyche loved each other. But Cupid forgot the whole of the injunction that had been given to him, he remembered the beginning, but in his great love he forgot the end and the result was that Venus became jealous and separated them, until they could again be united on the day of perfection.

The entire transcript, which is chock-full of wisdom, can be found here:

"If you seek the good in every soul, you will always find it, for God is in all things; still more He is in all beings."

Whispers from Spirit means that God is guiding us in all manners acknowledging our inner and outer world, manifesting in ways that impress and bewilder. Behind many faces, animals, objects and moments in time. The latest from Inayat Khan seems to be impressing the same message as Yogananda from his expanded commentary God Talks with Arjuna,

 Commentary by Hazrat Inayat Khan
Quote

When we look at this subject from a mystic's point of view, we see that love has two aspects. Love in itself, and the shadow of love fallen on the earth. The former is heavenly the latter is earthly. The former develops self-abnegation in a person; the latter makes him more selfish than he was before. Virtues such as tolerance, mercy, forgiveness and compassion rise of themselves in the heart which is awakened to love.

The infirmities such as jealousy, hatred and all manner of prejudice begin to spring up when the shadow of love has fallen on the heart of the mortal. The former love raises man to immortality, the latter turns the immortal soul into a mortal being. A poet has said that the first step in love teaches selflessness, if it is not experienced then one has taken a step in the wrong direction, although one calls it love. For man has learned from the moment he was born on earth the words 'I am'. It is love alone that teaches him to say, 'Thou art, not I'. For no soul can love and yet affirm its own existence.

And so with the previous post, it would seem that we often forget the Heavenly Love when the Shadow of Love falls onto our hearts. It is important to humble ourselves whenever a spark of Love tinges our being, pray and meditate that we might be guided to right action. It can be achieved by asking, "How shall God use me today?"

Kindest regards.

P.S.,
Our family recently experienced the passing of a friend. I am of the belief that everything happens at the right time. As if the comforting Lord knew what would come, that day- All Saints Day, I had been greeted by friends with such Love and Authenticity. I was really taken back. What's more, a woman came in to the store to give me bread used when celebrating her cultures day of the dead. She specifically told me to leave this bread up by an altar and invite those who have passed from this worldly life into the home and enjoy the feast. It was later that evening we learned of our family friends passing and to my surprise neither Mom or Dad moved the bread I had laid out not knowing I had already invited him to our Home. His wife ended up spending the night at our house too.

I have recently gone through a miniseries of tribulations with having to stand my ground from personal attacks at work, enduring an unrequited love interest and witnessing my family experience the passing of our friend, but all the while it was one guided by Love with constant whispers from God through those who have opened their hearts to me, through the kindness of strangers and new acquaintances... I am also feeling blessed for the Spiritual Anchors brought to my conscious fore which certainly help me to rationalize, observe and mature. Much gratitude for the Lord and for the Love in all Hearts!

With Love...

Very powerful quote here Eric;

“The infirmities such as jealousy, hatred and all manner of prejudice begin to spring up when the shadow of love has fallen on the heart of the mortal. For no soul can love and yet affirm its own existence.”

I suppose that it would take much understanding, human experience and meditation to incorporate those thoughts into practice.
