Title: Chakra Visualization Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Dec 05, 2009 07:26 pm This is a technique that is in the lessons and in the SRF Magazine from Yogananda. i thought it interesting in the sense that it is one that has been presented to the public:
Center the attention in the spiritual spine start by saying and visualizing: Om Coccyx then moving up to the next chakra: Om Sacral Om Lumbar Om Dorsal Om Cervical Om Medulla Om Christ Then reverse the process going back down to the Coccyx Title: Re: A technique i have heard often.. As somebody who is a relative neophyte to meditative practises, would it be better for me to practise Hong Sau for a while before trying this? As somebody who is a relative neophyte to meditative practises, would it be better for me to practise Hong Sau for a while before trying this? Thanks, L T L i have been blessed lately to be at many of the SRF services. Brahamachiri Alexander told everyone this technique at the morning meditation (some of these people might have known nothing about any SRF techniques). i hope not to have to wait till some one leaves my life to be inspired to make a further effort. But it is true that it has been some of those kind of 'heavy lessons' that moved me. Although in this case i would say that this is one more interesting stimulus that may enhance a well worn routine. After so many of the heavy lessons we begin to take the blessings more often and do something with them even in the best of times. Life is for the learning~ Live to Learn~ and so i hope always to be receptive to you as well. That is when you have a suggestion you may think will help. If we truly believe that the Guru can guide us in our path then we are cognizant of the fact that he is never giving us more than we can handle at our present state of development. This i often find hard to accept in my wavering faith. But still i do recognize the problem i am combating..... Jitendra My story is very similar to yours, Into Blue, in that a friend introduced me to his writings. Unfortunately, she passed on before I really started to take a great interest, as I was still at that time trying to get to grips with Krishna Consciousness, as described by Prabhupada, which was her pure path. My friend was in many ways the person who led me to a spiritual path at all. It was only through her battle with cancer that I learned that if you call, He (God) will help. I attended a C of E primary school, but had found that my faith, though strong, was beginning to waver in a God who, as far as I could tell, would not directly intercede...it took a long time before I realised that whenever you see a small change in a situation where you have prayed, that is His work. Paramhansaji's teachings have shaped my life since Chris' death, really. They've helped me walk the process more than any other guru, so much so that I donated the Prabhupada books to a charity shop after a fashion. I pray that the one who led me to Paramhansaji's teachings is now at peace. Title: Re: A technique i have heard often.. Post by: prabhatsinha on Dec 07, 2009 04:22 pm Hi Steve!

Center the attention in the spiritual spine start by saying (to yourself) and visualizing: Om Coccyx at the base of the spine then moving up to the next chakra about two inches up: Om Sacral Om Lumbar; opposite the navel Om Dorsal; opposite the heart Om Cervical at the shoulder blades Om Medulla; back of neck Om Christ; point between and slightly up from the eyebrows Then reverse the process going back down to the Coccyx This can be done over and over as the consciousness interiorizes and loosens from roudy sense distractions. People never find God because they don't know what they are looking for. They are expecting a certain thing to be their end result. If one were seeking enlightenment would you know when you were there? or would you realize it was there all along you had just misplaced it? Technique does help you to "reach God" for a better way of understanding. It allows you to focus your mind on such an outcome. Instead of your mind being all over the place. To truly find God you have to strip away everything in your life, mind, body, spirit, to find what is always there. People have a head time finding God because they are looking for something that is separate. Most see God as a separate person directing traffic sitting in the clouds. Thanks for the response and thoughts Amor and Secret Squirrel. i just wanted to add this: Yes i think all of us find God in our lives. It is to what extent that we realize we are finding God that often concerns us. We all have certain experiences with God that let us know we are finding him/her. We at times have the good fortune of seeing someone who has found out much more about God. Even to the extent that there does not appear to be a separation between the object of our seeking and ourselves. Yes we hear of people finding God but we do not choose to investigate. So who do we have to blame for lack of results in seeking? It is as simple as going to Chicago this summer and seeing Amma. You will find a person who has found God. Or you can take the SRF lessons and you will start to have small glimpses of your own divinity. You have to take the first step. No one can do it for you. To help balance your light body and align your chakra energy system repeat each of the incantations listed below. Speak the first part of the phrase outloud as you inhale. Speak the second part of the phrase as you exhale. Repeat each of the twelve incantation ten times. When you are finished you will feel centered and balanced (Inhale deeply 5 seconds)(Exhale slowly 5 seconds) •(My energy)(is free of blockages) •(My root chakra)(is deeply grounded) •(My sacral chakra juices)(are creative and bold) •(My solar plexus)(feels mellow and calm) •(My heart)(is filled with love) •(My throat)(speaks the truth) •(My third eye)(intuits inner knowledge) •(My crown chakra)(projects inspiration) •(My chakras)(are spinning in alignment) •(My aura)(is colorful and clutter-free) •(My lightbody)(beams brightly) •(I am)(centered and balanced) Title: Re: Chakra Visualization Post by: blue nova on Apr 19, 2010 07:17 pm excellent technique :)

Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Sep 15, 2010 08:59 pm That looks just like a variation of a chakra visualization? Hi Amor it is wonderful to have you and your inputs. Yes there were also variations that Paramahansa Yogananda (and other great Master's) gave to us. Another one is to say just om at every center; the coccyx being at the base of the spine, the sacral about two inches up, the lumbar behind the naval, the dorsal at the heart the cervical between the upper shoulder blades, the medulla where the neck curves inward near the base of the skull, in the back of the neck and the third eye just above the tip of the top of the nose. These are chakra clearing as well. The point is to get beyond outer sensations and experience inner perceptions. We must also consider the higher techniques of meditation which take us into the astral spine and out of the outer temporal world into the dimensions of the souls perceptions. Jitendra What's interesting here is the variation of the chakras. Meaning one talks about the front chakras, and then moves toward the rear chakras. Each of the main chakras have two locations. One in the front, and one in the rear. These also sound like sound clearing, or using sound to clear the chakra. The theory behind it being that the sound that is chanting vibrates at a certain rate that can stimulate the chakra, and energy of an individual. These vibrations are also being used with altering the waves of the brain to help one sleep, or to go deeper into meditation. Title: Re: 49 Vayus - petals of the chakras... Title: Re: Chakra Visualization Post by: Jitendra Hy-do-u-no-us? on Sep 24, 2010 11:12 pm Should you be looking up towards the spiritual eye or not because you said to concentrate on the spine? Thanks Steve. We concentrate on different parts of the spiritual anatomy. It is important to keep our attention at the spiritual eye during meditation. This spiritual exercise is for the chakras and not just for the spiritual eye. Although we still can lift our gaze during the practice. When one meditates on the chakras the attention is on each chakra that we are focusing on. When we get to the chakra at the spiritual eye we focus on that chakra. We can ask one of the monks on Sunday to clarify this. If it needs more clarification..... Jitendra Title: Re: Chakra Visualization Post by: AnnMarek on Sep 24, 2010 11:32 pm Thanks Steve. Prabhat Sinha Nomaste Prabhat This technique helps us get our conscious awareness into the spiritual spine. All the energy we draw in from the cosmos goes back out into body awareness and the world. Now we reverse the process. Starting from the lowest chakra. From the coccyx we go up to the third eye and then down again, chakra to chakra, till we get back to the base of the spine. We are bringing the consciousness inward so we can experience higher states of awareness. This awareness lies within us. The kingdom of heaven is within. Now mentally go down the spine chanting 'Aum' at each of these centers. Go deeper and deeper in concentration, up and down the spine, mentally feeling the centers and mentally chanting 'Aum'. As you do this, you see that your consciousness is no longer locked in the external awareness of the body, but becomes centered in higher spiritual perceptions in the spine. Relax in God. Don't be tied to the consciousness of the body. Let your mind go deeper and deeper in the thought of God." --Paramahansa Yogananda "December 24, 1936 all-day Christmas Meditation", Self-Realization Magazine, Winter 2002, p7 |
