Happy Birthday, Guruji!

Thank you, Paramhansaji, for showing me the way to God.

Thank you, Jitendraji. I haven't yet signed up for the lessons, and to be honest, am not sure that I will. I have some physical difficulties which I feel would prevent me from following Paramhansaji's teachings to the letter. (I have thought about it many times, though.) I'd be interested in hearing whether there are any experiences of devotees with mobility issues/balance problems and the Energization Exercises around.

Into Blue
- yes, how very perceptive of you. It is a painting of Paramhansaji doing just that (blessing a group of SRF devotees.)

Wow, Live to Learn, that is so neat about the picture. It is like if I hold my hands up to it, to his hands, I can feel the energy flowing from them.

i have met several people at SRF who were blind, in wheel chairs and unable to move. Master recommends to these people to visualize exercises they are unable to do. The Master does not ask those people who are following the lessons to follow them to the letter. They are a study program for spiritual aspirants. Those who are practicing Kriya are asked to follow the lessons and routime more closely.

You may also find that the exercises given in Amma's iam technique easier on the physical body. They are, however i would not say the energization exercises are challenging but then again i do not know your physical condition.

As far as i know Amma does not require that her iam techniques be followed selectively and i have seen her many times. SRF does not ask that those following the SRF path follow that alone either. However once one takes the Kriya's there is little time for anything else and at that point it is best not to mix other types of techniques. However i do other techniques when i am around people that are doing those techniques and find that an occasional change does not hurt me but only enhances my own practices. i still practice Hatha Yoga and some of the physical parts of the iam technique. i found the meditation techniques that Amma offers so close to Yogananda's that i just do his. Hope this helps....

As you may already know: Paramahansa Yogananda was in a wheel chair the last years of his life.  i have heard some interesting stroies about this.

Yoganandaji was in a wheelchair? I didn't know that!

i remember Brother Anandamoy talking about it the most. He explained that while he was with Yogananda (in the body) he felt such bliss but felt bad that Master had to have such body problems. Master picked up his thoughts and said "Don't worry you'll get yours too!" He said that Yogananda was working out the karma of his devotees thru his own body much as Christ did.

His humour was so pin-point sharp...and never at anybody else's expense! How deeply I love Him. Thank you, Jitendraji, for pointing this out to me. (Was it intermittent, then? I don't recall reading of it anywhere- or was it spoken of less by SRF for some reason?)
