i wonder where the interest sprang from? There are also geometrical forms in Astrology. Perhaps you could help me relate them to an over all scheme. You see the circle is divided into 12 equal parts. It is divided into half to represent an opposition. It is divided into quarters to represent a square. It is divided into triangles to represent the trine and it is divided into sixths to represent the sextile.  There are the triplicities and quadruplicities.  The triplicities are: fire, air water and earth. These four elements, are called the Triplicities. The term triplicities comes from the fact that there are three signs associated with each of the four elements. As an example: Virgo, Capricorn and Taurus are associated with earth signs.

The chart is further broke down into quadraplicities which are: cardinal, mutable and fixed. These show a certain approach to reality and help us understand why others look at things so differently sometimes. All of these geometrical divisions have significance in astrology.

The circle of 12 are the houses. The opposition, trine, square and sextle are angles that represent energy flow and blockage in a charts interpretation. The quadruplicites represent an individuals approach to others and their reality. The triplicities represent modes of expression for the individual. I do not choose to spend as much time on the quadruplicities and the triplicites due to the fact that there are two approaches to these: The sidereal and tropical approaches. It seems quite apparent to me that the angles to planets manifest in our lives and the houses are definite stages in which they play their parts.
