Actions speak louder then thought.

do i believe in the power of thoughts ?

yes  :)

hhmm...this gets the old minds gears rolling..... :D

thoughts fuel actions....do they not ?

so...actions, 'speak' our thoughts....

through our actions...we can clearly see our thoughts.

Yes, I do believe our thoughts create our reality.  If you believe all people are selfish you will very well attract a lot of selfish people into your life.  Even those who may not be extremely selfish on a regular basis may find they act selfish towards you.  So essentially my belief is that our world is governed by the law of attraction.  The thoughts you put out are what you will draw into your world whether or not you are consicous of those thoughts/beliefs.

Love,
Michelle

thank you Detlef, blue nova and Michelle for your replies  8)

welcome to you Michelle  :)

if thoughts create our reality, we are always thinking and so always creating

then is " manifesting/ manifestation idea " used only on special occasions, for special requests so to speak ?

is this like power thinking ?

......our lives...are in our in our hands...they are a reflection of our thoughts.

ultimately, in our hands they are, our lives.  our thoughts create our realities....thru gods free will this is done.....

suffering..is in the mind...it is created through our thoughts.

one souls suffering..may be another souls heaven...vice versa....

this is why...we must be careful in comparing...interpretating....lives of other souls to ours.

life is 'good'...this is how soul should interpret life...

good in the sense...that all souls paths may differ from another yet have the same journey....back to god again.

flying squirrel....good topic indeed !! power thinking at its most !   :D ;)

sometimes,,,this kind of 'power thinking' happens 'behind the scenes'...but yet, not Realized...

is life an "only special occasion"...?

no....but yes...but no.  :D  or, yes but no but yes....

it is special...but it not only can happen once.  i treat it as once...and i had better get it right  ;D  so, i now try and manifest this thought all the time...and make it realllllly special..

positive and with love...

?????

hmmmmm....getting the 'ol cogs in gear again dearest squirrel....

thank you and big ((((((((   HUGS  ))))))) to you  :D

good advice, nova, on being careful.... the comparing and interpreting

thanx  8)

yes, life is special but for special requests, I meant ... requesting special events, happenings in our life .... things we want to happen, that may not be happening at the moment... and so " manifestation " of these requests, might be needed

Title: Transcending Thought

The most interesting phenomena to me transcends thought. That is meditation. In meditation we find we are looking for that place where all thoughts are left behind-those thoughts that are positive in manifestation and those thoughts that are negative in manifestation. That is because there comes an awareness that attachment to positive thoughts and actions can just as easily attach us to the objects of those thoughts. We watch all thoughts dispassionately as they rise and fall and realize that as long as they persist we persist and exist trapped in this realm which the idea that came from thought created.

In the story of the Buddha, his father tried to use a kind of positive thinking on him to prevent his becoming a renunciate.

U have a point there b. The difficulty is that it takes darkness to have lite in this dimension. This whole screen we are witnessing requires lite and shadow to have existence. Without evil there would not be goodness. So if we are to accept the views of those who have presumably found enlightenment we must transcend our 'good' and 'positive' thoughts as well. The logical consequence of this view is that prayer alone is not enough since it usually entails requests for life to get better or for things to be positive. This too is ultimately a dead end. We can have our physical reality working smoothly and still not be happy or find fulfillment. This state of bliss that we seek is beyond all thought and desire to have this reality work according to our cherished views and will.  Concentrating on the screen of this creation being played out only delays our enlightenment. We have a call to look back at the beam that is projecting darkness and lite on the screen of creation. i have to remind this 'MY' self of this since creation and this world constantly draws us into its show.

do you ever feel there is a fine line between reality and delusion?

how do you know what's right between the two?

if people are judging your behavior, do you need to change yourself or do you need a new group of friends?

some cases seem so obvious, then you look at yourself- do you always know?

does it even matter?

irrelevant. relevant. it seems i've reached a state of peace and confusion. LOL

 :) great thread lol

I can say this my friend. The whole universe seems to take the form of the seer. Leaving one to wonder...are we staring into one very large mirror?

The whole universe seems to take the form of the seer.

Or the form of what is seen/seeing.

We r really only as far apart as our thoughts...this applies to friendship as well as being with someone we love or being in a Master's presence. But we also limit ourselves in our thoughts....it is quite a paradox.

i don't have any answers here, just questions. i've given a lot of thought lately, on the power of thoughts. much of which has lead me to believe one must study more with mediation and death. the idea in death is that we part from our body and mind and the idea of meditation is we can transcend thought and reach bliss.

is death the great liberator? are we our thoughts? why would close friends condemn you from changing by binding you to past thoughts and actions?
i wonder, is it possible to exist without thought. i wonder if memories are thoughts and if it's possible to have memories prior to being born.

lately i've been drawn back to the power of thought. how can one walk freely in this world, interact with others and say they experience the absence of thoughts or more accurately, the bliss one finds in meditation when we are bound by the bustle of every day life, by our bodies and minds. is bliss itself a thought or an emotion or something more?

we know, the power of thoughts hold a creative power. power to change our physical bodies- whether in sickness or to be even a healthier you and power to influence others(again for better or worse). but we are here, and while we are here we will have to experience thought everyday, every moment. i do have more time to meditate lately...

but what does this knowledge provide when we can't articulate it or live it to its fullest...

many thoughts here today but not enough energy to pursue.... so with this i retire and dive back into the busy world

peace, blessings

Have you ever felt really good and you may have noticed that you were not thinking about it. Just experiencing feeling good. As a matter of fact the more you may have thought about it the more you may have noticed you were loosing the experience.

Likewise I do not see bliss as thought. Because when someone tries to cognize the experience they have of bliss; it quickly disappears. This is the nature of the mind-- always wanting validation and it grabs onto experience and chokes it. It is much more difficult to experience such states of bliss and joy when we are bound by the bustle of daily life. Only an enlightened Master would be able to experience bliss and joy at all times and in all surroundings. Therefore it is important to occasionally take ourselves out of the routine and environment we have fenced ourselves into and experience for instance the language of silence and nature for a day at perhaps a park, the woods, the mountains a river or the ocean. We can then more easily slow the thoughts down and let peace slip in the cracks of constant bothersome thought patterns.

Does one remember things that did not happen this life time or does one create them? Ah but why would one create memories without volition to do so?

I do not 'think' we have to always experience thought. We can just experience awareness. Thought is only a tool we use to 'fix' things. When there is no need to fix things why reach for the tool box? I am using thought to convey this message it is conveyed by thought because of awareness that I had while in the woods mediating this morning. Awareness and the joy of being inspired such thoughts. Now I hope to go back to some form of awareness without so much thought to interfere. However I will soon be mediating again because the mind and emotions often crowd there way into my awareness as well. Practice, practice, practice and one day. YES!

The reason many people are lost in thought
is because its unfamiliar territory!

And for those listening to noisy thoughts it can be annoying and so familiar that nothing else is heard or experienced.
