Once Dr. Lewis and Daya Mata were 'arguing' over a point. Dr. Lewis said it was unnecessary to suffer to find God. Daya Mata said that suffering is necessary. Yogananda told them that they were both right. Because suffering is a prod to remembrance yet when we have wisdom we need not suffer. We should be grateful for everything that happens to us because through it all we are learning and it is his way of bringing us back. Even if we suffer in those 'dark shadows' we are being helped to return. We are learning through our trials and our blessings. Yet we can continue to pray for our wisdom so that we need not suffer.

A poor workman blames his tools. The tools of darkness are also where God lurks. Sometimes we even blame our tools (meditation techniques) for not taking us further when in fact it is the tools we are not using properly and our life is not in harmony with the tools. Good thread!

if soul finds itself in the darkness of shadow, soul needs to call out to God.....He always answers our calls.

sometimes the answers we receive...we may not like.   we must follow Gods answers .....sometimes to the dismay of others around us.  or, the actions we take may seem to shock others around us because they are outside of our usual ways, and their usual ways too. when this happens we may find the others around us will then start to critisize and judge the actions we have taken.....when this happens we need to hold onto Gods hands all the more.....pray that the others come to understanding....but if they do not come around,  we need to be content or okay with that fact.

i am thinking that in the small things things we should put God into our lives. i am making that effort. Closing our eyes and looking to the christ center. Asking for guidance throughout the day in every way.
