Emotions are like lenses put on a camera they color the view. They bubble up from unknown sources. They keep us moody. They come from incarnations of getting involved with this world. They leave us with so much suffering. When will see beyond them into the pure bliss of being?

what is bliss  Huh?

i am grateful for emotion and my incarnation(s) of being involved in this world.
it was you that said, variety is the spice of life

emotion has value and is responsible for my progress. both here and there

whenever it is, i see- my future- i see or feel, emotion

Bliss and emotions are two very different experiences. Bliss springs forth from the soul and beyond the experience of duality associated with the emotions. It is a very important incarnation we have in this life since we have lived some 8 million incarnations before having the capability to be human and express divine consciousness. So it is very important that we are grateful to have this chance and not waste it. Emotion is responsible for progress as pain is also; yet ultimately there is no connection to bliss consciousness associated with the soul.

Try to explain spiritual experiences to most people in a bar and you will get a feeling of why it is difficult to explain the limiting scope of emotions to someone who has seldom experienced bliss. All experiences on this earth will help us progress if that is are desire. Some are more painful and not as necessary as others. Discrimination and wisdom are important ingredients to this discovery.

Variety comes from different approaches. We learn respect, tolerance and often a different approach to life through variety of approach. However variety in emotional and physical expression is like feeling different kinds of fire... gas, brush fire, coal etc. They are all hot and we are advised to keep a certain distance. After being burned many times some of us do learn this lesson and allow ourselves other experiences that we might have denied ourselves because of a relentless need for igniting fires.

All of us are at certain levels of working thru the human experience otherwise we would be divine and know it. Being divine is being free of physical and emotional expression. All desires are satisfied. There is no compulsion on their part. Divinity comes back only to serve and help. We are blessed by such incarnations.

i see
a part of me thinks, being here now and experiencing as we're meant to- being provided with everything we need, already- before knowing what is we need... something about that is divine. this life is divine. to me. ALL of life! my family, friends! this board  STRANGERS and the spirit that speaks through us all Cheesy you are divine! lol. ok so do i know what divine is or not? *shrug* i dont care that much to be honest... because my definition does not always justify the experience...
whether we are divine beings or not. or whether we're just graced by divinity. im just glad to be where i am now Smiley

hmm
thank you

hhmmm.......

bliss.

could it be considered as 'something that god is made out of'.....or is a part of god.

as souls, we are a direct piece of god,,,,aka we were 'made in his image'.....then would we not have it within us too ?

just brainstorming here... Grin

could it be....that were are so caught up into being human and being part of drama....that we done forgot about this ?

i believe that is the general philosphy of most religions/spirituality....yea ?  at least the ones that i have ever experienced....or took interest in.

i know...that once u experience this bliss.....it becomes priority to experience more....not only for the feelings we experience from bliss....but the other 'benefits from bliss'.   like....less anxiety....one is happy more....troubles sometimes seem to melt away....

all u want to do...is experience and be a part of this bliss.....

it is quite wonderful.  but, i cannot go without saying....that it takes work.  i did not realize how much....but well worth every second.   besides being a parent....it is the most gratifying .  best 'school' i have ever attended  Grin Cheesy

awakening or remembering....is like a caterpillar and its all the stages it goes thru in life.  goes thru a lot, doesnt it ?  going from one body to another.   when a soul sluffs off it's physical body, or remembers that it is soul again....it goes thru stages.  sometimes,,,,they can be a bit of a buggar..... Wink

this is why i have been away for a while....just going thru 'one of those stages'.... <3<3<3

the 'quest for bliss'  is an ongoing process....like a treasure quest...kind of.  listen to intuition....it serves as a map or gps unit to god/bliss.

by meditation and yoga....one will learn to hone into intuition.....

((((Hugs))))

Greetings dear one and it is a blessing to have you here. Every thought we think is an affirmation that creates are reality. So it is important to watch our thoughts; not just during meditation but at all times. Just beyond our thoughts is that state of bliss that we are.

im just curious about something

do we let our emotions guide our life?
maybe like god saying, live your life- be true to who you are- and discover what i've given you
the emotions and the choices we make from them
do they reveal to us who we are ? is this our gift, discovering in life ?

sometimes, reason is necessary. sometimes reason helps us decide not to act off a fleeting emotion
other times, reason is not enough or ones emotions might outweigh logic- and sometimes, 'logic' is wrong
i agree and think its good to pull out from the immediate life and enter in stillness, whenever we feel the need...

but to pull away and never live in flow with the external
creation

.... ? is there a balance

Emotions and reason are only tools and incentives to a spring board of action. Many times not very well thought out or guided. If they are not guided by wisdom and divine plan they serve no useful purpose. Many of us identify with our emotions and reason and loose touch and believe they are the reality.  The knowing reality is something much more than these. In actuality they are noise during meditation. We need to turn down the noise so we can be at peace with our body and in our mind. Only at this state can we be guided by divine will which will come to us in all our activities and most importantly in the stillness of silence within.

so you too see the importance of pulling out and say doing so can be helpful for day to day activity.
wisdom, something i don't understand- but believe you're right
applying wisdom and discernment to any situation help steer the direction you will head in life

but i am far from all wise and sometimes my emotions are to strong- i might act differently then what i see or want as the appropriate action. sometimes i don't see that til later
til i've played the fool

but even now
you are where you are because your interest and what feels right to you? right Huh?
meditation, yogananda, understanding your interest and things like inner peace or bliss consciousness
you've been lead there by your emotions- and believe its right rather than blindly follow what another says

if you are unsure about a situation but are being pulled by a very strong emotion - ? then what ?

tools, sure. still very real- i think all emotions serve purpose, even if that purpose is to show you- X is not for me. whether guided by wisdom or not, emotions help show you what you can't always see.

We do not understand that it is very difficult to steer our course in the right direction. We continuously 'feel' as though we can steer our ship but the truth is that we are irresistibly drawn by are karma to situations that serve no useful purpose accept to create more karma. In our state of ignorance we finally come to understand that our freedom lies with the help of a divine soul that can lead us safely to the shores of fulfillment. By the time, we have come this far, we no longer follow what others  say but rather what our emotions and habits have dictated. These too are dictated by a long history of past conditioning which has lead us to our present state of ego enslavement. Please take the time to read excerpts from 'An Experience in Cosmic Consciousness' under the Autobiography of a Yogi.
