By Paramahansa Yogananda
I'm will tell You a Story. I might have told it a thousand times. But in the story was a vision and the solution of the problem of life. There was a great yogi and he was a very wealthy yogi...and he was always one with God but he had a terrible indigestion. You think always yogis should always be healthy. There are oxes who are wonderfully healthy but they are not yogis....and Saint Francis was suffering all the time and he was raising the dead at the same time. Because the yogis are sick because they put on the karma of people they put on. But they never suffer themselves inside. The thing is this rich man was suffering from indigestion as he was dying. He never prayed for his indigestion.
So the Lord comes..and he says; Lord I want something in the next incarnation. What do you want; think carefully. So he says; I don't care at anything for riches. I want wonderful health and communion with you. He says ; Have you covered everything? He said ;Yes Lord So in the second incarnation he was born with health like a sandow. In the second in the second incarnation he was born with very healthy and very devoted to God but no money. No matter what he did he could not get money enough to feed his hunger. So when he was dying of hunger he said Lord : I made another mistake What is health without money? In the third incarnation I want to be healthy and wealthy.
But in the third incarnation he was born healthy wealthy and a great yogi. So in the third incarnation he was born healthy wealthy and a great yogi. But he very was lonely. All this time he was complaining of loneliness. Then why this loneliness? God has made companions so must have a companion in order to be fully happy. So when he was dying of loneliness. He says Lord. Lord I want Have you covered everything? He said Lord; This time I make no mistakes.
So in the fourth incarnation he was healthy wealthy a great yogi and had a wife that nagged the life out of him. He couldn't go out of his home without being accused of looking at someone. So he was dying of super nagging he said Lord I have made another mistake. He says: what now? In the fifth incarnation I want to be healthy wealthy and have a wonderful wife.
To be continued....

thanx ! I see there is much more to the story and I see a very unhappy, never satisfied man ....... and in the 5th incarnation the yogi also had a wonderful home in a beautiful forest. He was very happy and felt very satisfied with his life except for one thing that happened towards the end of his life: There was also a flying squirrel in the forest who liked living in the crevice of the roof because it was very warm there due to the heat rising during the winter and heating that part of the roof as well. However, this squirrel was a flying squirrel and the yogi did not want to cause harm to the creature due to practicing ahimsa or non violence to all creatures. But flying squirrel loved to gnaw at the corner of the roof and a post that was there to sharpen its teeth. Now this was not any ordinary squirrel. This flying squirrel was a professional squirrel so it was very difficult to catch it or corner it and it would fly off when ever cornered and come back and gnaw at posts etc, So after this incarnation the yogi asked God...... to b continued. sitting on my branch in the state of wonderment is there more to the story ?

sitting on my branch in the state of wonderment is there more to the story ? Any how as i was saying the yogi did not ask to do anything with the squirrel during his life and due to good karma associated with not killing the little animal he was given a boon in his life. He saw God and as he started to talk God said "What now?" Well u see I have tried all my life to practice ahimsa... all my life and as a result I had to re-shingle my house several times and repair the roof numerable times. If I have to come back again please do not let me endure the pesty damages of a professional squirrel. Well God chuckled at this and said due to your accumulated good karma; i will spare u the travails of a pesty professional squirrel who eats so hungerly the very house in which you reside although at this point I think you are little nutty due to your having the company of your nut eating friend for so long. So the next life....to be continued.

Hey ! Awesome story ! One kool forest yogi ! such compassion for the squirrel, most spiritual indeed ! seriously now, if you were a professional squirrel and needed to sharpen your teeth where would you prefer to do this ? outside freezing in winter, on some random tree in the forest ? or inside a warm house, filled with spiritual vibrations of the highest frequency ? now I ask you ?
