Intereststs; Meditation/Spiritual Life

« on: May 28, 2011 10:43 pm »

Every nite we go to sleep.  In deep dreamless sleep there is pure consciousness without being attached to the body or mind. At this time we get the peace we are searching for. You train yourself to go to sleep. If we train ourself to consciously to be still we can also reach this state by applying scientific meditation techniques. If you could at this moment be calm and silent you would be aware of your soul and the great body of the universe throbbing with the love of God. Just by sitting still for a long time you will reach a spiritual consciousness.

Try to get away from the back support of a chair so the energy can flow freely thru the spine. Rock back and forth a bit while keeping the torso erect. Then do the same little exercise with the upper back. Ideally the chin is level with the floor and the palms are at the juncture of the thigh and abdomen to prevent leaning.

When people concentrate they knit their eyes brows a bit. This is the center of concentration and Christ Consciousness. Looking down you are in subconsciousness. Looking level you are in worldly consciousness and looking slightly upward, gently lifting the gaze between the eyebrows you are in spiritual consciousness.

To further calm the mind we do the simple bodily function of watching the breath. Almost as though you were watching someone else breathe. We release and throw out the breath with a double breath. Then breathe in to the count of ten or what ever is comfortable to you; holding and releasing the breath to the same count. After doing this for sometime, take a deep breath and gently tense the whole body including all the body parts.. Then double breath out and now when the breath comes back in naturally, we watch it. When it flows in we mentally breath in peace and when it flows out we mentally release all tension of body and mind. Just watch it and say i am mentally inhaling peace and exhaling tension. Make sure there is no tension anywhere in the body. If you find that one body part is tense, then gently tense that part and relax it and go back to breathing and watching the breath.

After breathing in and out for as long as you can comfortably keeping the awareness of the breath then breath out and forget the breath enjoying the peace inside again gently tense the body and exhale and then focus on the deeper awareness of peace inside.

It is helpful to bring that awareness of peace that you experience inside to the outside world and into your life by saying an affirmation after the meditation to remind yourself of the peace of meditation. When you reach the state of dreamless sleep the consciousness of time disappears. This is a good gauge of how you are doing in your progress during meditation. Life is all meant to instruct us and entertain us and so we learn and experience this more and more in life through the practice of meditation.
