What draws us here in the now? Our thoughts. Our thoughts and desires are a tremendous impetus for our whereabouts here on the earth plain and elsewhere. No wonder we spend so much time silencing them during meditation and observing them at other times. Have u ever stopped to think about these kind of thoughts: i just wonder what it would b like to have a child or i just wonder what it would b like to b on stage or i just wonder what it would b like to b healthy or i just wonder what it would be like to b wealthy or i just wonder what it would b like to have a soulmate or i just wonder what it would b like to have a lot of friends or i just wonder what it would b like to have good looks etc.. Those kind of thoughts draw us into our present dream lives to experience just what those thoughts have manifested.

Many of us r only dimly aware of the battle that is going on between the world and spirit. The attractive power of love is helping us recognize just how much we r controlled by our desires and thoughts. The world and the force that draws us outward away from the soul entices us to constantly want to experience every possible pleasurable scenario on the earth plain. We r making the effort to calm the whirlwind of thoughts and desires to manifest higher realities in our experience and to manifest higher realms of consciousness in our awareness. It is for us to practice contentment in all situations as God is with us always and so we have everything we need right now.

Cheesy  when i first read the heading on this thread....the first thought that popped into my mind....

''i dont know...but it better be darned well worth it....seein's how i left such a one-der-full world behind for this cold , spite-full, fullo-o-hate place..." Undecided Grin

sorry if that thought seems...odd, bitter....but it is the truth.  i remember being born...the first thought in my mind was..." what the heck have i gone and done now ? "   then the crying of a ''newborn'' started...what appeared to be a newborn crying was really a soul pleading w/god....'oh god,,,take me back,,,take me back,,,pleeeaaaaaseeeee !"    Wink

part of me wishes....that i was 'dimly aware' of the battle of hard-world vs spirit.......having this knowledge w/out people listening to me.....tis/was a buggar !   it's like...knowing that a war is coming and trying to warn others and they not listen..... Undecided

ah well....c'est la vie....

We have to come "down" here, in order "to let go". We have to liberate ourselves by letting go of our desires. All of them, except that one desire for God. The great Yogananda put it this way, "Finish your desires, and pray, 'God, let all my wishes and desires melt into this one: Knowing Thee!'. If you cannot give up your desire for Indian Curry, you will have to be born again here, in order to enjoy it, because in the Astral World, there is no Indian Curry to enjoy. It is the cosmic law of karma. Our own wishes and longings that draw us back here..."

Jitendra got it right. Let's be content with everything, God presents to us. Let us not be too emotional about joyful and sad events in life, because they are only entertainment of Divine play. It is there for us, to progress on the path of liberation. Lahiri Baba Mahasaya defines liberation as 'complete detachment'. The holy techniques which you practice are a necessary tool to use. All else is already in you. You own the Sacred Heart.

Love to you, Anne, and a wonderful day today and many such years to come!

Jitendra, then you have mastered practising the Second Mantra of Isha Upanishad. It tells us, to generally accept all conditions we find ourselves in. Accept it. Life. As it is. Do our best in love for God. Stick to our duties and abide by all laws. Not looking for results. Then we lead a COMPLETE life (100 years, symbolically).

Congratulations! (smile)

All good things die hard especially if you have a 700 cranking case battery.
I'm sure you know by now its just a change of scene with new characters.

what draws me *here* to this forum. the openness and willingness to discuss spirituality. and more importantly. sometimes i feel lonely. coming here and being partly anonymous gives me a different kind of voice/vibe. where it's easier to discuss intimate and sincere topics, a place to let the romantic inside day dream and wander. a chance to feel creative. the like minded individuals that post with a similar voice/touch i am drawn to. i feel most members here are very nice people.

ah yes it is nice to have familiar loving presences and to see them again whether
missing them from day to day or life to life. we can always rejoice in our reuniting.

Should we recognize when others are not nice? Or should we ignore the behavior of others?
Or is it not possible that we do not know why others do or do not act? Questions of relevance or questions of irrelevance?  What me worry?  I spend all morning gazing into a crystal ball of the future. If it  will not turn out accordimg to plans: well I can use it for my goldfish.
