Why do we continually do the things that r wrong for us? It is because there is a delay between the cause and the result. The course of fate is beyond our understanding. Yet our our conscious is like a tape recorder. We do not need to have people taping us. Our conscious does the work for us. The truth will continually reveal itself to us.

There was a story about a man who was told to go somewhere where no one could see him and kill a chicken. He thought he did so. But another man was told to do the same thing. He went into a cave in the dark where no one could see or hear him. He came out and said that he was unable to go anywhere because the mind of the mind and the eye of the ear was watching him where ever he went. So u see our conscious follows us relentlessly and records all that we ever have done in life. These thoughts r inspired by one of Amma's talks, by friends and my own life experiences....

Yes i agree Flying Squirrel. Yet sometimes it takes a long time and much personal commitment and energy with people till u find out the significance of a relationship. i believe we can all attest to that. Some of our initial hunches often end up right in the end. i think it is very important to meet people before getting involved with them in a close relationship and recently that point was proven to me very strongly. Brother Bhaktananda told me once that people should spend time together, in a physical sense, who feel close to one another. This is important while considering relationships of any sort on the internet, phone or mail. i should have followed my hunch/intuition. i realize that it is difficult to meet some people because of the distance. Yet where there is a will a way manifests and from this happening we can understand the dynamics we have with others. ~ 'Learn from the lesson and do it right the next time.'

i remember Amma saying some thing relating to this: We should have the courage to tell our mistakes. It sets a good example for others. Love of the body which is tangible is very limited. That love can b destroyed very easily. Mind and emotions are also very low. Devotion is higher. It requires honesty, dedication and enthusiasm to gain love.

confusing a bit, these words from Brother B

wondering what is meant by physical sense ?

thought the teachings of  gurus was that one was not to focus on the physical desires, rise above the physical needs,  talk soul talk, yet  .... am sensing a conflict of sorts, from your comments ?

seems you are quoting spiritual leaders Amma, Yogananda on occasion,  who are thinking one way, yet you are leaning towards wanting a physical connection ?

squirrel could be wrong ?

Meet people, spend time with them, get to know them by being in their presence. This is much different then spending time via a technology.  You never really get to know someone till u have been with them and see day to day hour to hour how they react to many varied situations. This is why we r together in this physical reality. To rub against one another. In this process we grow. The physical realm is much more potent for the growing process then the higher realms. There is much value in incarnating in the physical realm. Much karma and growth happen here on this earth for those who r receptive. Those who r in a receptive mode and not a reactive mode. Smiley
