Bhaktananda  Loose Notes, Assorted Topics no dates

Do your best to follow a schedule, you will not be able to do it perfectly, but you have to keep trying. It strengthens the mind, just like reading the words of Master does also.

Keep the attention more in the chest. Do everything from that point. It is just a habit to have the attention in the head.  You can inwardly be crying out to God in the chest even while talking to people and even while working at a desk at a job you need to concentrate upon. But it takes work. Then God will REALLY answer you.

The intellect is not used in the higher realms. It is only used on the earth plane and in the lower astral.

If it were not for Babaji gathering avatars around him in the Himalayas, the vibration on the planet earth would be so bad that none of us could even meditate.

Those who are really eager to control the energy in the body use the techniques in SRF Lesson number 72.

We have a lot of good ideas – we put them aside. We procrastinate. Keep some thought of God in mind when you work.

On Sundays and Thursdays at the Temple a lot of new people come. We should talk to them.

On Responsibility. If you sign up on a list do some thing, do it. Master and God work through willing instruments. That which flows through you, some remains. Mark your commitments in your date book. Remember Master said “Life should be chiefly service.” Many people have worked to allow us to be in SRF it is not just us, so we have to reciprocate.

Bhaktananda spent two weeks in his early days talking to himself about what he is doing. “Now I am ….” etc We can do this now and then to keep the mind on what we are doing.

Be interested in whatever you are doing, so we don’t have to be pushed to get things done.
