Steve,

I'm trying to find the transit times (years) for the planets.   Do you have any basic answer to this.

Namaste2All, these are the orbit (transiting duration around the Sun)times of the planets around the Sun. As you no doubt can surmise the time is not in years but rather days for the faster moving planets. Now as these planets are orbiting the Sun they are also making transits to our natal planets. Such transits are  determined by their orb (or closeness) to a natal planet. The closer they are to that natal planet, the stronger the influence. It is not just their closeness to planets (conjunction) but also the closeness of angles to the natal planets from transiting planets that have influence. Certain angles are very important, others are of minor importance. The opposition, trine, square and sextile are most potent influences to natal planets. Planets transiting are considered more influential as they enter a sign that has a geometrical relationship to natal planets in another sign. As these transiting planets move towards a tightness of angle they become very potent forces for release. As they move away from these angular relationship they loose there strength and there affects are lessened.

I have given you a link above that shows the transit times in years of the planets around the Sun.
As to the transit times to natal planets; this is found by looking in an ephemeris and determining what angles are forming between transiting planets and natal planets. If you have other questions please ask.  When you say you are trying to find the transit times in years it needs to be clarified; Transit times of what planets, in years, to what planet(s) or areas of the chart? So i gave you a general overview.
