I wiil soon be giving out condums after service. It seems I have worked my congregation into a sexual frenzy after preaching abstinancy and seeing you multiply like jack rabbits.

There is famous saying: excuse me while I kiss the sky. Well if you see the large
mug one of the congregation so kindly put on the podium...I now must
be excused while I work off the edges.

In silence and stillness, I find peace.

Dear Swami Peevananda,

I have given up the contemplation of conundrums.  I find that my Being is not enlightened
enough to comprehend them.  I don't have the necessary attained spiritual clarity of mind...

Be mindful of your clarity and your spiritual attainment will come in time. If you spend time with Peevananda you will have nothing but conundrums and if you need condoms I would not wait for Peevanda but instead choose your local pharmacy. Peevananda will be working off the edges with pain killers morning after morning if he tries to solve the conundrums of the Church. Next time you are concerned about your enlightenment remember all the fun is in the pun.

how will we ever slow down population growth  if the largest church in the world doesn't allow birth control?

i went to Niagara Falls several times in my life. A friend and I arrived there during the day and it was so crowded that we had to leave. We went back to Toronto. However I suggested getting up in the middle of the nite and visiting before and after the Sun came up. That is what we did and spent several hours near the falls meditating, energizing and enjoying nature's magnificence.

This is what I just can't understand: Why it is that people can complain about hordes of people and how life is changing in such beautiful cities and places because of large crowds but they continue having more children. It just does not add up. Any intelligent person can put two and two together and recognize that if they are having these children they are adding to the problem we are speaking of. Apparently there is a lack of consistency in arriving at concludions. Yet if we are not part of the solution we are part of the problem.

Yet most people have a problem with addition. You see in reality two plus two does not add up to four. In fact when having children two plus two usually adds up to eight or more. Simply stated; by the time we get to the grand children we are not even talking about addition but rather squaring numbers. So four plus four is not eight but rather sixteen. Every time we see congested areas where hordes of people are let us not forget who has created this phenomena and although we may be able to understand simple addition when having children we are speaking of exponential rates of growth and hordes of tourists in shopping malls, in traffic and every where we go to find meditative peace.

The sad fact about population growth is that poor and undeveloped coutries are suffering it most.
Many western countries are experiencing a slump in growth.
In Italy, present economic situation further discouraged  births and we are close to zero growth, whereas in Africa, parts of South America and Asia they go on, no disrespect meant, rabbit-like.

Like Malthus (of whom Steve is clearly a reincarnation) wrote, when the power of the earth to produce resources will be overcome by the number of users, chaos and doom will break out and reset the system very painfully.

I'm not optimistic about a solution being reached before that.

This just is one more example how the Bible is outdated as a spiritual authority. It states To be fruitful and multiply which clearly would be insanity in our world today. It is very sad that this book has influenced our history in many harmful ways. This is a result of humans believing a book to be infallible.

biblehub.com/genesis/9-7.htm
And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.” New American Standard Bible "

Steve, everything should be put in the right context.

When the bible recommended to mate and proliferate, there were very few people on the earth.

So, encouraging indiscriminate reproduction on the basis of teachings given at the beginning of the human history,  is the result of humans being just plain dumbasses.

i don't think u fully realize how much these old ideas influence present society. Billboards everywhere  promote the 'family life' which propagates more population growth. U drive into a town and there is a big sign that says  'grow with us' That kind of growth is destruction to our planet.. more strip malls.. destroying more wet lands.. plowing down trees... etc.

Steve, evidently people in America are not reading those billboards, if population growth is so low presently. You should rather be happy.
