One problem with gazing too frequently into the past is that we may turn around to find the future has run out on us.

I want  to look at life like an hourglass:
when we look at the container above it is the past. when we
look at the container below is the future. the present is the
sand moving from 1 contaner to the other. when we attain
enlightenment we see the whole container: future past and present all
merge together and time is just 1 more illusion of the mind.

Pardon me if I am intruding on your conversation Yoshi and Squirrel. There are numerous ways in which God can make us lonely and lead us back to ourselves. The illusion of the mind is the way he often deals with us at that time. In this unpleasant fashion we feel condemned to be lonely. You can raise between your self a locked gateway to Eden with its pitilessly resplendent host of guardians. It is only a beginning, an awakening of nostalgia for your former self. It is the way God deals with you at the time. It can be like a bad dream and awakening from it is the beginning of enlightenement.

Well then we can understand why the squirrel does not believe in enlightenment. Nothing happens by chance as they say. If you need something desperately and find it, this is not an accident; your own craving and compulsion leads you to it. It is unlikely that we will experience somethng we have no belief in or faith for.

In some musicians I have witnessed a longing, a most intimate atonement with the world and a violent wrenching loose, a burning hearkening to one's own dark soul, an intoxicating surrender and a deep curiousity about the miraculous. Without these qualities in the soul seeker it is nigh impossible to even fathom the idea of enlightenment let alone the experience.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions however it would be a very dangerous world if everyone was entitled to their own facts. enlightenment can be an illusion of the mind. it all depends on the sincerity involved.

How about the present Mr. Elf? Are you taking a coffeee break on us when we just got used to reading the daily news provided to us free from
the Elfun News Express? I enjoyed the Jottings Section you so kindly provided us. Well don't forget the cream and sugar. Pour an extra cup for me thank you! Should you have time to provide it again I will read the comic section as well. Cheesy
