why are we here?

why am I here? What's it all for?  why did you create
me lord ? when we ask these questions we are in a
state of  spiritual suffering it shows we are
awake enough to ask. these are questions I asked myself as a teenager.
perhaps some of you have been asking these
questions or asked  them earlier in your life.
I never stopped asking these questions or
gave up looking for answers. while I provide some 
of my own answers I invite you to give yours

When i was young i noticed the great differences between people. Some were very talented some were not. Some very rich some not. some were healthy some were not. Some spiritual some were not. The idea of karma made a lot of sense to me. How could God allow one person so much personality and another hardly any? The fact is it made more sense that God is not unfair, it is just that we work on certain things from life to life and  excel in them. God made this creation but was very lonely with out others here to enjoy it. So he created us. That is his play or Leila.
He wanted us to enjoy the play. But somehow, as players, we got attached to our roles and lost the sense of wonder and joy of watching the play and being entertained by it. Occasionally we enjoy the 'big show' and we witness it like God would. But many times it becomes very serious and we loose are ability to witness it like a divine being would.

i used to go around and ask these questions as a teenager: why are we here? Where are we going? Why do people suffer? i just thought i was a little different. Some people thought my questions were abit wierd. Now i know that i was asking these questions because i was truly searching for answers and probably had before this life and those questions were still with me especially since i seemed to be encountereing a foreign country on this earth. A stranger in a strange land. It was refreshing to be at a service recently and hear Brother Devananada ask these very questions again that i had asked as a teen ager.

He said that if we do not know that this creation is fun we are in a state of spiritual suffering. The plan of the play is a reciprocal relationship between us and the creator. The divine plan is one of reciprocity. When a man and woman are in love the relationship goes both ways. It is a reciprocal relationship. There is also nothing more important than the performer/audience reciprocal relationship. The audience brings out a great performance. It goes both ways. Wander if God created a beautiful creation but there was no one to see it? If God creates beings to appreciate it there is a reciprocal relationship.

We are the actors the producers and the perceiving audience. All the stuff that is happening is from us. The body is the field. it is the field of our bodies where all our actions are expressed. Everything that we are experiencing in the universe is actually being enacted on the field of our bodies. The field. The knower of the field and God himself is the perciever in all bodies.

People complain: Why can God allow such suffering? How can he let us suffer? But it is the Lord himself who is suffering with us. He alone is manifested in countless souls. God is the only being who is expressed singularly and in all physical bodies. Do we know that God is experiencing thru us? Or do we see ourselves as the perciever?

A sanyasi was walking during the rebellion in India. Everyone said: get out of the way you will die.He was so much in the bliss of God that he was totally detached and kept walking. The English were putting down the rebellion. As he was being bayonetted he looked at the soldier and said "You too are he"

Imagine a musician in a forest and playing a flute. He is the enjoyer, the creator, the perciever, and the music itself. This is what God is in creation.

I Am that I Am said the Lord to Moses I am in all. Jesus said that nothing would be left behind. We will all eventually return to God.  No one will be left behind.

Why do human beings not know that they are perfect? The human mind is perplexed by the senses. They think God is perfect and we are imperfect so i must be separate from him. There must be two not one. Yet dramas can be fun. God created a drama so deep that it takes eons to play it all out.

still haven't found the answer !

some days I run round in circles in search of the answer

still end up in the same forest, filled with trees

difficulty....a conundrum we may face along the spiritual path... most of us do !!  work...bills to pay...personal relationships.

when i was a kid...i was very much into stuffed animals.  every week i would walk to town and visit the local florest which sold stuffed animals.  if i desired a new 'stuffie' ,,,i would do extra chores in order to obtain the newbie stuffie i wanted so very badly.   during school hours....all i could do was think about the stuffie and how i could go about obtaining as sooooon as possible !      i worked hard for it....every hour not spent on homework would be spent on chores to obtain stuffie.

if we desire something strongly enough....then we CAN obtain it.     

keys= commitment...will power.....desire....

Our choice of friends and relationships is the strongest indication of our sincerity
in our life pursuits and helps resolve conundrums.  If we continue to choose friends and relationships  that don't participate and support our goals it is like trying to weave straw into gold. Karma can be slow and arduous or we can change old grown out patterns. It is up to us. But letting go is a Cancer thing. We Cancers know about it very well.

Nice to see you Yoshi. Your presence is appreciated! You have added a lot to your spiritual home over the years! Coming home is not always easy it requires looking into ourselves and seeing clearly what was fuzzy from a distance.

Yoshi:
i have found that i have learned to except others more and more in my life from the practice of meditation. Everyone is at a different stage of evolutionary development and we are all learning different lessons. Yet sometimes we walk parallel on the spiritual journey. Those are nice times indeed. i rarely see myself as separated from others now. Sometimes that closeness is very evident at other times we grow apart. Yet we are bound together especially by our spiritual practices and putting our spirituality in practice in our daily life. If not we often have to take a good look at why. i wonder Yoshi; what are some of the ways in which you have benefited  from meditation?
