Recently i was talking to Elfun about all the rush that takes place in the south west. It is hustle bustle. There is often a restlessness that pervades us when in the presence of such activity. It becomes difficult to settle down and relax. To enjoy life. We rush and rush around till life is no fun! Any how i have also toyed with the idea that maybe we bring part of this consciousness with us and manifest it around us. It is important to be able to just sit down and turn off all the commotion so we can let the spirit flow thru us. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to relax and float down stream.

Sometimes I think this hustle and bustle is just a way of life, it surrounds us no matter where we are. We need to make time to just stop and smell the flowers  Smiley or relax and float downstream, instead of trying to swim upstream !  Grin

I love to watch people who take their time. They are a rare specimen. In today’s world, everything is super fast and we are used to it. We walk fast, talk fast, type fast, dress fast, everything is a race. We never have enough time, we are overwhelmed with loads of work, chores, errands. There is no time to smell the roses if you are caught up in the mundane world.

But every now and then I see someone who just does things slowly. They take their time. They walk slowly, not in a lazy way, but they show they are not hurried by the demands of this world. In other words, they don’t give in to the pressure that tells everyone to hurry because they must get somewhere.

The person who doesn’t hurry knows something about life. If you are not in a rush, you do things better and you enjoy life more. Life doesn’t pass you by and you are a spectator. No, you live in the world and you set your own pace. I find this to be a goal worth achieving. Rather than being swallowed by the world and its crazy demands, you find your own pace and you enjoy it, regardless of everyone else around you.

I believe the person who manages to do this is confident because they are willing to take their time. It is hard in a pressured situation to slow down when people around you are rushing. It is even harder when those people are deemed to be important people: bosses, agents, managers, children, elderly parents, or anybody who makes you feel guilty if you do not rush.

But the confident person knows that rushing will do you no good. You might get things done alright, but will you really learn something or take something in? How much of yourself do you put in when you are in a hurry to get things done? How much of yourself do you forget?

Try this for one week. Write it down as a goal for the day if you need to:

Do things slower than you normally do them.
Take a little bit more time.
Put some finishing touches that you wouldn’t normally think about.
Look at something closer, more in depth.
Be more aware and more present in everything that you do, from the way you get dressed to working on a project at work, or even when making love! Grin

Is that you treptasaurus? yes; it is you. Thought i would send you a picture of one of my more wiser moments when i was practicing your exercise above. Seemingly splendid! It is only because i am starting to understand the blessings of unanswered prayers. everything i need is being provided. i do not mean to be ungrateful Lord. i just seem to want more than i need or more than is good for me and sometimes we find we are like madmen rushing around trying to get it. Somethings leave us to show us what they really were and we must shed our skin to recieve a new one. God always provides. Yet i often need to remind myself of this. when i do everything starts to improve because otherwise we can put our own spiritual progress at a stand still. This can happen when we put past obstacles up before ourselves. Such simple wisdom but it comes with realization and taking that step into the great beyond....slow by slow...

Rushing around and being active is so much apart of our culture that it is in the grooves of our mind. Sometime try sitting down and just being. You will find that your mind wants to be entertained by the TV the internet or a phone call. Or ofcourse all your endless responsibilities. The mind..the rushing around and the restlessness makes us feel that meditation is impossible. But it is the conditioning that has done this to us. We can also deprogram ourselves. It may take some effort and the right meditatation tools but it can be done. What we have been conditioned to do we can also undo. We have the free will and we just have to have the right intention and surround ourselves with an environment and with others that have the same goal: to find peace to find joy to find happiness which is there inside each one of us.

We sit down and try to still ourselves yet we only think of THINGS WE HAVE TO DO. If we give a little thought to it there is nothing so important as our search for God. 100 years from now you and I will no longer be here and all the things we thought to be so important will be gone. Even the people we thought were so important; will they remember us?? Many of them have already gone. Most of us are locked into famalies because of karma. Not even out of a real joy of being with such people.
Where is this joy and happiness we are looking for? Is it in others? Are these others that gave us such happiness around today?

The happiness we are really seeking is inside ourselves. Others who recognize this are attracted to us and we are attracted to them. There is joy within us. Yet why don't we always experience it when we look for iit? It is because we are looking for it everywhere except within ourselves. Then when we look for it within ourselves, WE THINK about all the problems we have created for ourselves and all the people and places that have not given us the happiness we still seek. So we need to recognize
that a period of reorientation has to take place; a time in which we recognize that getting a house. Getting a mate. Getting a car.
Getting our bills payed. Getting attention. All this getting is not going to give us the lasting happiness we seek. That is why it is
said: Seek yea first the kingdom of heaven and all these things will be added to you and that the kingdom of heaven is within. So here we are back at square one. Meditating.

We are so used to doing something it is difficult to get in the meditate mode. That is why we even need something to do when
we meditate. There are techniques to do to take us out of the do mode and into the being and witnessing mode. Why do people
enjoy pot, alcohol and sex? Because they alter our awareness and we are temporarily taken out of the do mode and we are
transported into the being mode. We witness an altered state of consciousness. The only way to find this altered state of being
in a natural way is thru meditation. Thru meditation our need to seek thrills outside ourselves is lessened. It is a natural high.
Yet it is something we have to practice and give time to. We have to pull ourselves away from texting and turn off the T.V. and
sit in silence to satisfy this insatiable need of the soul to find bliss and happiness. If we do not practice this we will find ourselves continuously brought back into the do mode and their will be no end to the turmoil presented by our actions.

One of the most interesting things about the do mode is that we can be working and on a vacation and still be caught in the do mode. We can still want to do something. Vacations or time off can still be very restless full of places to go and things to do.
When we are not doing anything we  are worried about what we should be doing. So you see the do mode is a state of consciousness. We are often attracted to places that are doing things. Internet sites that are always active. People who  seem to have a lot of activity and friends in their lives. Yet where is all this activity taking us? What are we really accomplishing?

Amazingly enough there are people who live in mountain caves who seem to  be doing nothing who are actually in a much much higher state of consciousness then we can even imagine. All they're doing is done!! They are only here to help the doers
find happiness and bliss. So the question remains how do we stop ourselves from doing and from being in this chaotic state?
The answer of course is start practicing meditation. Because in meditation we are stopping  all the doing and we are practicing being in the being mode. When we are being we experience spirit and that joy we are all looking for in all the things we are doing. Eventually we start expressing the meditation state of being mode all the time.

it's no coincidence that i've read this post and shortly after watched a unique show called weed country and then this beautiful film by graham hancock the war on consciousness wherein hancock explains this type of consciousness, the do mode also known as the problem solving mode... i.e, quicker beta brainwaves
vs. the altered states of consciousness filled with spirit messages much like meditation where the brain experiences an altered state- a delta state.
watch this and notice the similarities between his efforts and yours to help those who seeks to break away from the every day 'DO' mode and into the all to often unexplored depths of the soul

hancock briefly covers the low leveled negative effects of alcohol and caffeine versus using a far more potent and shunned upon made illegal hallucinogenics-
this video was released by TED but later censored
watch, very powerful

here is the article

often when i am driving alone and am listening to music life becomes a moving sound track.
i feel pulled out of the do mode and experience more of a dreamy state- everything flows with the music and i am simply there witnessing the same hustle and bustle of life with more of a cinematic awareness
it's an interesting lucid feeling and had me contemplating on the mystical prowess of music and its ability to anchor its listeners into an altered consciousness

I listened to Grahm Hancock: The War on Consciousness.
T. Y. for sharing dear friend. HIAWATHA is it? He obviously
was talking much more here than just that. Even looking
at our culture in light of other spiritually productive cultures.
I want to share this with my friend John who has had a
pot addiction for years yet has a brilliant mind. I will listen
to more later. Its wonderful to have your contributions Eric.

It is amazing to me that we live in a culture in which there are more marijuana crime convictions then all of the violent crime convictions combined. That's so we have a legal system and police system that spends most of its convictions on non violent crimes. This is all in the face of the fact that over 50 percent of Americans believe that marijuana should be legalized.
This my friend denotes the sickness of a culture. That is the culture we live in. So as we are paying big bucks to have the police
rush around convicting marijuana users most of us at the same time believe that marijuana should be legalized. So as I've said before most of our prisons and jails are filled with petty crime convictions.

The altered state is a result of where it comes from. Music originates in the astral realm. We enjoy this feeling of being connected with the astral. There are portal holes in our consciousness that connect us with the astral realm. We return
to the astral worlds after our sojourn in this physical life.

Re~inventing Wheels Turning

♡No fears of loosing ground.
The wheels go round and round
I'm caught up in the sound
Floating on a sea of mirth
Where laughter rings
While music sings
In moving sound track mode
With that special friend I know
Relaxed in now embedded
In this altered consensus
Reinvent ourselves in accord
Rhythmic sound a portal door
No lines will confine
To realities grown old.

How can the people we meet
and the signs we've seen
have any knowing
of where we're going
if they know not
of where we've been?
The trees echo a sincere reply
The nite offers a glimmering eye
Thru stars that glow
and sounds from om

We're lost within the sound
the wheels go round and round
In moving sound track mode ♥

I have heard astral music in meditation. Musicians who create have spent long periods of time in different areas of the astral
realm where music originates: thus being in the physical realm they have not totally lost their connection with the astral realm and can reconnect and plug in at various degrees even in this dense existence here on earth. We can connect with this astral reality in meditation or vicariously thru the liqiud flow of sound on the physical level originating from various levels of astral awareness of consciousness.

I have travelled a few times to a very remote town about 100 miles south of Zhanjiang China. I mean you are "out there".

Out there, life is so different. There's no rush. There isn't all the things to keep track of like we have here. You don't get many things instantly. This family I visited has electricity, but they rarely use it. It's all a very simple life, simply because there's hardly any conveniences. There's not a lot to do, but I didn't mind that. It's quiet. Just being able to sit and really not have much to worry about feels normal to me. I didn't meditate when I was there, but now I wish I had.

Thanks for sharing... There is a lot of things we would have done different. it is frustrating to dwell on it. All you can do is recognize that we are constantly learning.
