The power of positive affirmations ~ I influence my own state of consciousness

There is definitely something to having a positive outlook, and making affirmations
or saying prayers that gets my life going in a direction that feels good.  When I am blessed with
this outlook, I seem to have more energy.  When I say blessed, it's because sometimes it does
seem as if Grace is coming from somewhere outside, helping me.  I think that the way it goes is
that the more I put into goodness, the more I experience goodness coming to me.  In the New
Testament, my favorite part of the bible, it says "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you
will find, knock, and it will be opened to you."  ~ Matthew 7:7 ~  There is definitely a direction of
action being suggested here!

When I think too much about myself in a negative way it saps my energy.  I don't feel well and
I tend to isolate myself.  Sometimes the most I can do in a time of dark feelings is to tell myself
that it's only temporary, that "this too shall pass," similar to the "Nothing is permanent." tenet of
Buddhism.

It's not always easy, but my desire is to see the glass half full rather than half empty.
For me, that is The Way.
