Chiron is a very small body. It is only with us, and our solar system for a short time as far as the universe is concerned---
only the briefest moment of universal time. The present is the moment we  live in, right Now.  But any present  event
immediately becomes a past event. Even future ones  soon pass into the past. Chiron represents this brief present moment---
this fleeting event that we are paying attention ro right Now, before it goes into a 'was'. To put it anothwr way--we are always
living only in the present and Chiron represents an awareness of this.

Maverick:

This was one of the earliest keys suggested for Chiron, and was originally derived from a statement from Dr. Brian Marsdon, of
the Smithsonian Institution Astrophysical Observatory. Dr. Marsden mentiioned the fact that Chiron most likely
originated from outside the solar system, and would one-day leave us again, and is therefore, a Maverick. Many people do not really understand the meaning of this word and tend to confuse it with words like rebel and even revolutionary. When they do this naturally they assume that Chiron is just another version of Uranus but maverick does not mean rebel. Maverick is one who takes a stand apart from other members of his group yet does not necessarily try to get others to change to  his views he is not for or against any group to whatever area the Maverick sideshows. A rebel on the other hand directly opposes some group or authority even to the point of open disobedience.  Usually with the intention of causing some type of the major change in the group structure. The easiest way to understand the term maverick is to think of Chiron's placement in between Saturn [the authority, the established group and its rules] and Uranus [the rebel the revolutionary the individual who openly breaks away from the system.] So Maverick does not wear any brand to say he can be labeled as following the group ideology yet at the same time does not carry the banner of a protest against said ideology. Maverick follows his own course although he soon may discover that he attracted followers along the way.

Quest:

This is an important key. It is the root from which we get the word question, and has as its essence a seeking after truth. Along
with this come romantic images, cojured up from great, oft-told myths and tales. Thus the word also has come to connote a transformation that occurs in the Questor, as a result of pursuing his quest.

Guide: This is a someone, or something, which helps to lead, or direct someone on some course they are taking, or the proper directions to reach their goal. It is important to realize that the guide need not be a living being it can be a spirit or even some inanimate object or the words of someone coming to one from a book.

this is something that enables one to gain access to some place or to something but it is also a means of preventing such access.it can be that one small piece of information that enables one to understand the solution to a problem. What is most important about aa key is the recognition of its existence. Before one  realizes a key exists one may not believe there is any solution to a problem or may not even recognize that a problem exists but once the key is discovered the first step in the solution has been taken. One who has the key actually also has control and thus can keep others from opening the door and uthus keep them from solving the  problem. Thus a key is necessary to both open and close the door or even an electrical circuit Key is used to denote a small electric switch.

Doorway:

A doorway is in effect not belonging  to either world. Take the doorway of a house. If you are outside you cross through to go in. While if inside you cross to go out. The door may be part of the house and block entrance or exit when closed. The door itself is totally neutral. It belongs to both worlds or neither depending on your point of view. If you think of the walls of the house as being Saturn the inside of the house as the inner planets and the outside of the house represented by Uranus, Neptune and Pluto... Then the doorway itself can be seen as Chiron.

Chiros:

Time has usually been considered the realm of the planet Saturn but in actuality Saturn only rules one type of time ---chronological time [duration]. Chiros represents time that is outside that realm---time that obeys an entirely different set of laws [if it does, indeed obey any set laws at all].  It is the time that Einstein referred to, in his exclamation of  relativity:  "When a man sits with a pretty girl fror an hour, it seems like a minute. But let him sit on a hot stove for a minute and it's longer than an hour.  That's relativity. " And it is also this concept the Robert Heinlein focuses on when [in his book Strangers in a Strange Land]  he has his character Michael Valentine Smith talk about us a 'cusp' -- a time when all else fades away, and all attention is turned to making of a crucial decision. Chiros has been called timeless time.  Many people have been able to this type of time in deep meditation.  Remember than that Chiron orbet is, for the most part beyond Saturn and that will assist you in contemplating a time which is not ruled bu the clock or the calendar.

Mentor:

this is someone you trust in to look up to who can counsel you. Many people need to find a mentor at some stage of their evolution---although one frequently outgrows the need after one ohas evolved a bit more. The most crucial thing about a mentor,  I feel, is the timing. When one is in need, a mentor shows up.

Tap:

A tap is a device used to let out, or cause to flow, the liquid that is contained within some container---without altering the structure of the container.  Taking the concept a step further the tap could open to let out other things that are contained such as energy, power, healing forces. The important point to remember is-- the tap allows the structure to keep its basic integrity.

Qualifier:

Each category [ruled by Saturn] has very specific requirements or standards that describes all members of the category. Those not in the category may be  in other categories but that is  unimportant for this discussion. What is important is that there must be members that are near the edge of the line that are just barely a part of the category, and if changed a bit, would no longer be a part of it. Take for example the concept of elements such as gold, silver, nitrogen. An ounce of gold is still gold and so is a pound of Gold. Even a molecule of gold is still the same element. An atom represents the smallest space of matter which can still retain the name gold. Break it into smaller pieces such as electrons and you no longer have gold. Thus an atom is a qualifier of the category 'element'.

I listed many of the qualities of Chiron in this topic. Starling: you and I both have Chiron transiting the 11th house. Which means that we are feeling this mentor nowness coming from friends. This avenue: this door is open leading to a connection with friends and groups like never before. Especially with the connection to your stellium and my stellium Starling.
