Sometimes I wake up late at nite and feel restless. I am fortunate to have friends here to remind me what is important so I sit up and meditate a bit.

Well meditation is better than sleep, right?

Once in a while for me it's just the opposite, yawning overpowers meditation attempt.

Oh yea, not just the need for sleep but food, desires and sexual energies arise at varying degrees for each individual reminding us we are still functioning at the physical level. It's quite a process dealing with this physical apparatus.

But we can't always think of being in some other dimension, home, heaven, causal, astral or what ever you choose to call it when we still are tied somewhat to this realm where we need to find happiness in the moment and not begrudge this temporary condition.

Sometimes I have found it more important to sleep rather than being tired the next morning and unable to do our service correctly because you were forcing yourself to stay awake and meditate. If all else fails we can always think of God and practice the presence. At some time the divine will give us the time to continue are techniques at meditation. We must have faith in this because it is true. We just have to do our part to the best of our ability.

Every act can be meditation.

There's things all day long that interrupt the state of mind I wish I could always be in. Slowly they're becoming less bothersome, once in a while though...

Having gurus and being on the spiritual path is a bit like changing channels on the t.v. the movies become much more interesting. Someone tells us about another channel and it becomes even somewhat entertaining. Sometimes we even tune into altered states in our search. Those frequencies require more tuning in and changing our own views to accommodate the higher frequencies that have always been there. Having divine spirits that can relate to what I'm speaking increases the fascination and recognition of the truth behind appearances and the spirit behind this material fantasy. Seeing a new reality emerging gives us the ability to loosen up and let go of our cherished past and outworn views of reality.

I follow. I think. Sounds like you got something figured out that either I completely don't or I'm just doing it another way. Or I'm out of tune.
