A zen master was once asked, "What is the secret of zen?"
"Touch and go," he said.
The meaning of touch and go is to not grasp at things mentally (non-attachment hasn't to do with only concrete objects). When the mind touches something do not linger on it. Do not grasp at it with the mind. Don't try to manipulate thoughts, don't try to make them "come out right". This is wrong. Touch and go means as a thought arises, we touch it and go. We do not fixate. If we want to see things as they are then this is the way. The mind likes toys. It plays with things and constructs ideas, storylines (sometimes "spiritual" stories), creed systems, just as a child plays with legos. It does not see the actual. It is out of touch...
and go.
