Many unusual things happen when seeing a master. I am going to visit Amma in the next few days.

I remember seeing her once in Toronto it was about 5 o'clock in the morning-Amma was giving darshan- and somebody was tending an information booth. He looked very tired so I said I would replace him if he wanted me to. I said that he could go upstairs and get some rest in his room. He said no he would rather just sit there and serve. Since he looked very tired I thought I would just talk with him a little while (to help him stay awake) and I asked him some casual questions like how did you meet mother? (Amma)

He told me that he had been in the hospital for months and he was very sick and didn't really think he was going to make it. While he was there a woman walked up several floors and to his room and told him that he was going to be ok and he was would be out soon. He asked the doctors and nurses who this person was they said they didn't know they had never seen anybody the way he described the woman that walked in his room. Several months later he was walking down the street and he saw a picture of the woman that came into his room that picture was a picture of Amma and after that he thought well I should find out who this woman is he said: "Since then I have never stopped seeing her."

Once I saw her and when she was talking she said that "the Guru and the disciple are one." The Zen Buddhist use what are called koans. They are little phrases you repeat over and over in your mind. Well for some reason that phrase kept coming back to me and appealed to me.  I was caught on to it and it repeated over and over in my mind. As I was walking out of the auditorium all of a sudden I felt this tremendous bliss and I felt as though my heart was expanding.  I broke down and started crying. I was unable to stop and I had an experience I've never had before. I remember praying the whole time. "Amma I do not know what you are doing to me but please don't stop." I understand what the phrase 'It took my breath away' means in a very personal way.
