Paramahansa Yogananda has quite a lot of information on food and nutrition in the lessons: Specifically Lesson 83 In it he comments that the high protein value of meat, fish and poultry is offset by their deteriorizing effect on the body. He also discourages the use of white flour because it 'acts like a glue in the intestines and obstructs the expulsion of body waste materials'. He recomends vegetable proteins found in flour, legumes and nuts as well as cheese eggs and milk. He has many recipes for vitality and energy in these lessons. i would highly recommend them to any one suffering physical illness. i would like to copy many of the quotes here but i think it would be better if you could read the whole lesson and gain all the benefits. i am now in my late 50's and still enjoy good health. Of course this body is not going to go on for ever. Althuogh it  sure helps to have a Master give you advice on health: for this i am grateful.
