How do we develop and keep discipline in our life? If we can be around other people who have discipline and practice a routine it helps. Otherwise we can start setting small goals for ourselves. My mother used to cook sweets  all the time but I could see that she had gained weight because of it and I was starting to also. So one day I just stopped eating them. Now I never eat desserts. i satisfy my sweet tooth with honey in tea or a blended drink or with yogurt after meals. It is a paculiar thing though; i have a friend that i see periodically. She drinks water instead of sweet drinks and when i am with her i drink water also. Environment plays a heavy role in the development of discipline. Often people can be disciplined in one area of life but not another.

Eric and i were talking about discipline. i believe that action springs from thought. If the idea is in our mind continously it begins to manifest outwardly in our life.

I believe to have discipline we must develop our will power and then use it to do what we want guided by God's will. I have found that the SRF energization exercises help in developing discipline and balancing out the bodies energies. We consciously direct our will through sending energy to various body parts thus strengthening them and healing them.

"Will is desire plus energy directed toward fulfillment. There is nothing that can be accomplished without will power, not any act of your daily life.... In developing will power, you must make up your mind, using reason, discrimination, and wisdom. Then exercise and use your will consciously toward a specific purpose. And never give up until you reach your objective. When you tune in with divine will, and revolve your will continously around a certain idea, your will becomes impregnated with power."
