As far as I understood, Ceres has a rotation period of 9 earth days, so Dawn should be able to see all its surface in such a cycle.

My point being that if Dawn is always on the lite side it is very difficult to know if they are lites. If dawn went to the dark side it would b obvious. It appears as though Dawn is mostly moving downward at this time and perhaps always has been on the lite side.

Ah, KK, that would require a very technical explanation, type of photo sensors, their receptivity to light, filters, softwares and so on. I'm pretty sure they can do just about everything with those images. Also, sunlight is probably pretty faint out there. I never saw light with that shape even though an alien civilization may like them irregular and despise everything with a regular geometric shape!

For sunlight being so faint the lite coming from Ceres is sure brite. But then again it may not have much of an atmosphere.

Hope the mistery can be solved by closer images... planetary geomorphologists are the experts in this fields, might try and find some forum with their opinions

By a quick search I didn't find any more detailed material on the Ceres' bright spots but found soem interesting website like this one. I'll have to read some material myself, Some planet like Mars are being studied like they were a hill in front of us. https://planetarygeomorphology.wordpress.com/

We can extrapolate very easily that this phenomena is likely other places as well.

Personally I don't think so.
SI is looking forward to splurge his last dollars in Ceres' casinos!
