i have been reading lesson 116 which Namaste has also been reading. i like this Affirmation: 'The king of the universe is my Father. I am the Prince-sucessor to all His kingdom of power,wealth, and wisdom.'

Reflections on Lesson 117; Somewhere some how the soul has experienced a more harmonious environment.  The soul seeks to find harmony in it's environment without being greedy nor self indulgent. The soul wants to project harmony with it's own destiny while giving harmony to those around it. Though others do not always understand the inner stirrings of this soul and others like it. We are somewhat out of kilter with those we find ourselves surrounded by.  How do we serve in such a way to find happiness with our surroundings? Sometimes we find the answers by looking at the questions. Why do we ask these questions of ourselves? Because something remains unsatisfied in our souls and physical bodies needs. Perhaps someone else can add to this and increase our understanding.....

Namaste2All, i just read #lesson 117 again: "Everything in creation has its own particular vibration. If two waves move side by side, there is harmony, but if one wave strikes another, there is conflict of forces. In your life you should avoid contradictory vibrations in order to live harmoniously." Anne would you tell me when you get to lesson 101 and 102?

Much about sensing the good and bad vibrations of others in this lesson. "Some people vibrate nervousness; some, temper, and some, cruelty."

Lesson 118

I always wondered why it felt so good to meditate right after taking a shower or after swimming and I just read in SRF lesson 118 that..." if you bathe everyday and meditate immediately thereafter, then you will feel the power of baptism by water. Water opens the pores of the skin letting out disturbing body poisons, calming and soothing the whole organism. Water cools the nerve endings and sends reports of cool sensations through the vital centers, balancing evenly all the vital energies."

Water combined with exercise often makes my body limp like a jellyfish; tension is released and relaxation comes naturally.

Paramahasa Yogananda has this lesson called 'Higher Vibration and Occult Perceptions.' It is SRF lesson 117.
What interests  me - over the years - is that I have gradually been able to assess the vibrations and energies of those I meet. Through years of practice of meditation I am able to understand why people react the way they do much better than I was able to at one time. It is all based on energy. The energy emitted by the state of consciousness one is radiating. The more difficult it is to understand vibratory  frequencies of those we meet and spend any length  of time with - the more we realize they are either of a much higher frequency or they are often sending mixed signals - Sometimes higher higher energy and at other times their energy is discordant.

Much more to assimilate on these two lessons 117 and 118 on vibrations.

The most interesting quote of this group of lessons-for me - is in the lesson summaries for #117. Actually I think this is probably the best quote i ever read by yogananda ; for me at least. I'm going to quote it here:

"Unless there is a relativity of vibration there cannot be cognizance of any vibration in the universe. Do you realize how much that statement explains? Anything of what you are cognizant has a relative vibration within yourself. One who is quick to judge evil in other persons has the seed of that evil within himself. The Godlike person of high vibrational tone is always aware of the God-spark in all he contacts, and his magnetic soul vibration draws to greater intensity that vibrational force in those who come within his vibrational range. Everything in creation has a different rate of vibration. The different rates of vibration balanced in the cosmic rhythm produce before us the majestic cosmos."

Why is that quote so important? Because it describes why we have created the reality we witness. It also describes why it is important to surround ourselves with the vibrations of high frequency souls...." The Godlike person of high vibrational tone is always aware of the God-sparks in all he contacts. P.Y. says that "A strong soul vibration is evident when a person is always conscious of being with God; and when you are with such a person, you feel the presence of God. That is the vibration to carry with you wherever you go, so that whoever comes in contact with you may forget all but the power and love of God."

Such is what I felt in Ammas' presence. There was an immediate recognition of happiness that started spreading over my whole being... just by being in her presence. To a lesser, but still very tangible state, I also feel this vibration in the presence of various friends who emanate  God's love.

Lesson 117 Paramahansa Yogananda mentions "After you meditate deeply, then use that perception in the sum total of the feeling that you have after meditation, and concentrate that feeling in the heart. Then it will give you power to radiate good vibrations and to absorb good vibrations and it will also give you wisdom."

Steve, I believe if we were able to do one hundredth of what is written in the Lessons, that would be enough to make ourselves highly evolved soul, that's a huge depository of techniques.

Success is for the man of incessant working ability. Success comes to the man of character.          Success comes to man of regularity. Success comes to the man who seeks for more with dissatisfied satisfaction---does not rest on his laurels. Success comes to the man who performs little accomplishments well.
