BB 91 Bhaktananda Qualities that Make Us Christ-Like Sunday 10-4-81
 
“Let Thy will be done” means we have free choice to guide our will with wisdom – knowing God’s laws and obeying them. It does not mean we have to do God’s will as if He were a dictator. He does not force us. God’s will is not autocratic; it is guided by wisdom. He does guide us – to right situations and persons to fulfill our needs.
 
He does not talk directly to us, because if He did, we would not work hard enough. He wants us to work, to apply what we learn. We need to get busy.
 
True actions  - doing good, we feel happy. Otherwise we feel guilty  - ignorance, bad habits, contrary actions, inaction.
 
Liberation means freedom from the necessity of acting. A liberated yogi bubbles with merriment all day. The greatest way to act is to please God.
 
Surrender to God 100% - God’s will. It means constant peace and joy within. This won’t interfere with your work or your life. It makes us more efficient. God is joy – not sadness.
 
Make surrender a habit. Temptation is a wrong habit. When we surrender to God, God surrenders to us. We tend to surrender ourselves to others; they tend to mislead or use you – not intentionally, but they do.
 
We must establish the new habit of surrender – attachment to the body is the problem. Did you create this world? No. Then why try to direct your life in your own way? Follow God instead.  He does not give us difficulties, God guides and blesses us.
 
Working – “I’m doing this for God”. Life is really spiritual.
 
God does not care what kind of work we do. He asks:
 
Do you love Me?
Do you think of Me?
Do you give the fruits of your actions to Me?
Do you serve Me?
