Yes that is what he describing. A Master can help awaken such experiences. Perhaps i  have not had such a profound experience as he did but i have felt the presence of such Masters and have recognized what they can awaken in us. Because i have had some unusual spiritual experiences by being in the presence of elevated souls as he was.
