i meditated with a friend tonite. hope to get to that next level-below the surface of this life with all its glittery display and often disappointment at the realization that things are never quite what they seem. occasionally though life takes a twisted unusual path and u realize that u never quite understood or appreciated just what was laid in front of you. serendipity.

Steve, your post sounds open to interpretation.
What I understood is that you meditated with a friend and appreciated the meditation and the inspiration provided by such friend who maybe you took for granted previously.
Also: serendipity= making making fortunate discoveries by accident. You discovered such a friend to be a great inspiration. If such a friend is female I would dare to imagine more than friendship has been borne. LOL.

I've never meditated with anyone yet. I have heard that meditating within a group can be beneficial, or, it could be detrimental since we don't know where a member of the group might be at.

Many times in life we gain are abilities at things because of the people we seem 'destined' to meet and who become a part of our lives. For instance for many people coming here to the portal... They-including myself-may be changed very much thru the synchronistic connections they make that make inroads to spiritual progress and human understanding. Others will write it off as just a passing phase in there life. For me i recognized an instant opportunity at learning a particular way of discovery of inner potential when i met a astrologer mentor who i knew most of my life and i have also had the instant recognition that certain people and places i went to were landmarks in my spiritual understanding.
This can be said about spiritual encounters as well. i was fortunate to have an aunt who was a SRF devotee in California who invited me out there at an early age so i was around very highly evolved people in my early 20's. But when such opportunities and serendipities come to us we have to jump on the band wagon and follow them or they may pass away and it is sometime before another one occurs. Because of various insecurities, ego misunderstandings or insensitivities we may pass up gifted people and spiritual treasure left at our doorsteps. If we look back at our lives i am sure we can all see at times we have done this and at other times we were very in tune to those serendipitous encounters.
