I started this thread because the thread on Kriya Yoga is getting quite long. Even though most of us may not understand these higher kriya's it is fortunate for us to have meditation techniques for higher ages and way ahead of the times.

One challenge that i see about Kriya is getting in the spine. The higher Kriyas give u some visualizing techniques that help in this process.

I never wanted to apply for the 2nd kryia since I believe I didn't reach a satisfactory level in the 1st kryia.

Now I'm wonder wheter it might be useful to apply. Do you have to practice the upper kryias in addition to the basic kryia or in its place?

I feel it strongly, but not so much centered exactly in the spine. My challenge is getting the energy to go back down, the upper chakras just fill and I want to stay there, but I haven't practiced near as long as you guys, I'll get there.

The basic Kriyas r done regularly. Sometimes-not often-i have time to delve into the higher kriyas. What can really b determined satisfactory? i just keep going on day to day. Satisfactory or not.

The concentration element...bringing the focus to a small area...very subtle...thought is...the mind takes us down so many roads.... so many detours.... so many by-passes... so may excursions. Actually getting it to take us down the road we want...recognizing the power in consciousness...recognizing the power in thoughts direction.

By satisfactoy I mean which satisfies a minimum standard of form and concentration. But you are right, satisfaction does not govern the spiritual routine.

i completely understand what u mean by not finding a 'minimum standard of form and concentration.' That is precisely why i like doing the higher Kriyas. Because they have few moments in practice where the mind can wonder. U r occupied with the techniques at every moment.
i like practicing them in the shower.
