We are so caught up with 'doing' in this culture that we have lost our connection with 'being'. Can you actually sit still for a while without the internet, without the phone, without going from place to place in a mad rush? Something inside us is programmed to be in this chaotic state of doing... doing and we become very restless and loose our peace... our bliss.. our calmness. Now mind... be calm... relax... enjoy... just being... this is your moment...don't let anything or anyone rob it from you!

People usually do not recognize what wonderful things have been done for them until those who have helped them are gone. That is a tragedy of life.
However once we begin to recognize and appreciate the blessings around us we begin to become very grateful in the present moment and no longer seek as many 'things' from the future. We recognize and appreciate what we are being and those around us are being also.

Great thread. I believe there are addictive qualities from our technology and internet that lure us to an undesirable state. There are also dependencies that spike our nervous system and take time to heal from like alcohol. I sure do wish to kick it for good but still struggle- years later. Sometimes I get restless just being when really I yearn to go back to such a state for its peace and simplicity. The mind is also restless even if we manage to rid ourselves from external stimulus- than an internal battle of emotions and reason ensues... Patience... practice... I’m not giving up.
