it's a great video, beautifully orchestrated. they covered a lot of issues in a short amount of time but two of the biggest things for me being mentioned in this video are
1) carbon tax www.carbontax.org
and 2)focusing on non CO2 green house gases; methane from animal agriculture. this was one of the main reasons i attempted a vegetarian diet and i am quite fond of the gentlemen in this video for easing the transition from red meat to chicken because we are aware not everyone wishes to be vegetarian. i think the way he said it, "if you crave to put flesh in between your teeth every once in a while, even transitioning to chicken will have a great effect"
http://www.earthsave.org/globalwarming.htm

the gentlemen discussing carbon tax made a good point. politics cater to the people and if we want a big enough change the people can alter even the presidents view on a subject... much like the example of obamas stance on gay marriage.

i was heartbroken by the palm oil segment because i've seen the picture of the burnt orangutan floating around...

https://blogs.ntu.edu.sg/hp331-2015-03/palm-oil-plantations/

thanks art for the wonderful contribution!  Smiley

just to add a little bit of hope to the situation...

check out this article about how scientists recently discovered that a specific type of seaweed, when fed to cattle, reduces their methane emissions by 99%!!

Tonight was rather interesting to say the least. I was quite surprised to find I had the opportunity to speak with a few geophysicists about global warming. There is no doubt that they can all agree global warming exist but what was interesting was to find that the general head figures all felt that the man made contribution to global warming sums up to about 2%. They also feel that the 2% is enough make a difference and is recognized as a point of debate.

Although I am no scientist, I could not believe that I was now talking among a group of people passionate about Earth after our recent talks on the same subject here. It was rather hard to keep up with mentions of anthropogenics, sun spots, sea ice and polar ice... One of them told me that the polar ice caps have melted before and will melt again and again in the far future... A female scientist told me how sad she felt sad for the polar bears. Another said the ice age will likely happen again.

In any case I have much material to study up on now. It was also interesting noting that this group agreed climate as being defined as the observable effects or changes made within a minimum of 50 years time. Well, rather tired... just wanted to share due to the wild synchronicity of it all. One gentlemen said it wasn't until the 70's that tectonic shifts were accepted and that a reason global warming is so widely debated now is thanks to our evolution in communications which is something I've always been fascinated by.

Tonight made it clear that I've very little understanding on the subject but if I am going to continue to debate climate change then I have a whole lot more to research...

Just before ending the night a gentlemen explained to me that 99% of earths species are extinct. Man mad contribution to global warming does accelerate a recurring pattern which is why they feel the 2% contribution is enough to make a point of. He asked me to look at something called the 6th extinction?  I'm all for solar and wind power but the economics behind it is the challenge. I wonder how economical it is to feed cows only seaweed? Just curious.

(Tried moving this and ended up splitting the topic by accident. Hopefully everything is fixed now. Updated some parts to go along with this thread)

From what I'm beginning to understand human contribution has certainly accelerated climate change for the worse but the forces of nature are still greater than man. I am for leaving a smaller foot print if we can help it and for practicing compassion for all of Life. This is an interesting find supporting last nights talks... Geological evidence of recurring climate cycles:
http://myweb.wwu.edu/dbunny/pdfs/easterbrook_geologic-evidence-of-recurring-climatic-cycles.pdf

Interesting things to note here... "Mini-Ice Age"

"When it comes to climate change, a lot of emphasis is put on human activity, and rightfully so, as our ways here need to change. Perhaps in our fervour to discover our own culpability in this shift, however, we missed a few things along the way? What about the natural cycles of climate change Earth experiences, and has experienced? It’s a scientific fact that fluctuations in the solar cycle impact earth’s global temperature, as do other massive bodies flying in and around our solar system.

And more on 6th extinction...
Very interesting to find Dr Michio Kaku going on to talk about this back in 2012:

and just a year ago:

Hey Art,

I watched infowars today and thought it was funny to find the same article you posted up on seaweed reducing cow farts in their video. I think taxing major corporations for carbon emissions may spur ingenious energy alternative solutions i still don't know the practicality of it all or the willingness for individuals to be taxed. I also thought the article on the cow farts was pretty awesome lol but again don't know how economical this solution is.

Trump has said, "We May Have A Global Warming Problem, But It Will Be Of The Nuclear Variety"
This video makes a good point to question nuclear and geoengineering regulations

"During times of war, little thought is given to the environment. The damage is often so severe that some experts are calling war “ecocide.” These statistics show that change is necessary to prevent irreversible climate change that will lead to food shortages and ultimately additional wars. Only by taking action now and voicing our concerns can we prevent permanent damage to the Earth caused by warfare."

Quite informing! Seeing the picture of Kuwait ( last link) after the retreating Iraqi army left, was quite revealing. It is just difficult for me to understand why you would show an environmental and climatic concern after helping vote in an anti-climate and disbelieving climate warming man for president. It does not add up.

These people have no plan for climate change. I see no plan at all. Yet they make their career ridiculing people who do. Of course we want to limit nuclear power plants as well. Wasn't it I who had all the info on Fukushima? The question is where do we start? These people on infowars do not want to start anywhere. Therefore they are proponents of cooking our planet. They are one step worst; they ridicule all the attempts made by environmentalists to do anything. They are like Nero playing his fiddle while Rome burned. They entertain themselves with satire while they watch the earth being destroyed and people are dumb enough to pay the linings of their pockets by listening. These are the dregs of our civilization who will take it to devastating climate conditions because of their own greed and need to satisfy short term comforts. They are the dregs of civilization. They will leave their problems to the generation now demonstrating on campuses who would like to have a future for themselves. No doubt when climatic changes get overwhelming people who support Trump and infowars speakers will also say 'oh I was just joking'. If you make a mistake; own it and fix it. Don't rationalize and make excuses.

Yes and this man Paul Watson that comes up on your infrawars channel he is so angry that he could easily be diagnosed as a sociopath. He definitely needs anger management! He exhibits antisocial personality disorder. He is not the kind of person you would want to hang around with for any kind of spiritual upliftment!
