I don't know if he is personally racist or not. I haven't researched his history and all that jazz like others have done. I do know that Alabama has a deeply, deeply...deeeeeeeeeply rooted history of racism and classism. But what matters are the policies he advocates. The war on drugs in an unjust and stupid policy which only creates more suffering - particularly for marginalized classes of people such as blacks and poor whites. It is indefensible. Drug addiction is a public health issue and it is nothing but cruel to treat drug addicts as criminals. Not to mention recreational, responsible use. Furthermore, it is an assault on individual liberty - the liberty to decide as an adult what kinds of ways you would like to alter your consciousness and change your biochemistry. And still more, is plain old fashioned, 100% pure hypocrisy. Alcohol and tobacco, the negative effects of which have been proved and spoken about ad nauseum, are legal 'just cause' or something. With alcohol and cigarettes we have sensible laws in place which ameliorate (as much as possible) the extent that your use of these substances negatively impacts others. The same should be true for any other substance you would like to take. And that is the beginning and end of what the police should have to do with drugs - making sure you don't endanger other people or trample their rights when you're in the public sphere. Not dictating what substances you can ingest in the comfort of your own home or other peoples homes where you have been welcomed.

Yes i agree!

Yea i agree with u. If your going to show prejudice about herbs why not be consistent and have a maximum penalty for all mind alternating substances and drinks?

Wine should be illegal. Maximum penalty if you are caught.
