Spend a little time each day with the most important contact of your life: God or Spirit. There is nothing more important then your relationship to the oversoul. Get in touch with your higher being every day to assure yourself to stay out of delusion and protect yourself from difficult vibrations around you that can suck up your inner happiness. Nothing has the power to give happiness accept your relationship to the divine. If you choose not to call it that so be it. But whatever you choose to call that inner connection in meditation....That is what I am referring to.

In the beginning of meditation today I experienced very comforting chills. Breathing in through the nose and exhaling out the mouth. It didn't last long but it was a gentle tingling sensation that spread from the back of my head through the shoulders and down the spine. It kind of felt like I was entering a comfortable position to begin the meditation since I no longer payed mind to the discomfort of keeping my back straight. I usually lay down but haven't done a formal meditation for a while. Had to cut it short but it was very nice Smiley

I missed meditating for a couple days and tried again tonight... Just to realize how restless my mind is... The thought occurred, "there's all kinds of mess up here" (referring to my mind) or... "many knots to untangle."

Seems I have a bit of impatience and was forced to continually focus back to the breath after catching the mind drift to far out on thoughts that cater to the ego.
It's neat to come back to this thread almost a year later!

todays meditation was surprisingly calm and peaceful. i was able to bring awareness back to the breath without drifting to far and enter into a very heavy calm without music. some days are just easier than others i suppose.

It is dependent on so many factors my friend. Moods, planetary factors, environment, meditating alone or with others and their vibrations, temporary conditions and time of day or nite. However after a while we begin to understand theses different influences and make an effort to adjust and transform them to suit our goals.
