It is not my question but since you brought it up.... do we justify genocide and slavery by its prevalence? All these countries are like dominoes falling compared to this fact which Trump is perpetuating. The wealthiest nation in the world has the most prisoners:

Prison population per capita;

The United States has the highest prison population (2,228,424) and the second highest documented incarceration rate in the world (707 per 100,000 population), Seychelles has the highest (868 per 100,000).

There is something very sick about this and it smells like garbage that the wealthy of this nation under Trump are feeding the common person and at the same time taking the wealth for themselves as robbers. Lets wake up to a changing world with different challenges. Not concentrate on bygones. Slavery has a new name in most 'developing' nations today it is called economic slavery and genocide is now committed with chemical weapons as we see in the case of Assad and religious intolerance as seen in the case of Issis. Who is standing up against these social pathologies... surely not Trump who further divides the social classes of this nation and does not seem appalled by the vagrant human rights issues confronting the world.

It's (banally) true that the US didn't invent genocide or slavery. The above is what matters, though. And how many of those inmates are black? You'll find a large number of them. How many more are non-violent offenders? And How does Trump address this long-standing issue? He hires Jeff Sessions, a good ol mint julep drinkin' southernah, and says he wants to be the President of "law and ordah." That sounds like code for lock up the niggers and potheads and anyone else who isn't a good capitalist or a good Christian slave.

Quote
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. - Ephesians 6:5

To. Hell. With. These. Fucks.

Under Sessions' leadership, line prosecutors now will be emboldened to pile on charges (and thus prison terms) for federal drug defendants. This means more men and women convicted of non-violent crimes will face longer prison sentences at a time when our federal prisons are already overcrowded, and when the Bureau of Prisons' budget is already straining to fund other, vital Justice Department priorities-like those of victims' rights groups. Just as the nation is turning away from mass incarceration, and discovering that crime rates can go down along with incarceration rates, Attorney General Sessions is poised to reverse course. He already made it clear with his opposition to bipartisan sentencing reform last year that he has little compassion or empathy for the families affected by the enforcement of unduly harsh sentencing laws. He has also made this clear with his adamant and relentless opposition to presidential clemency, even in cases of such manifest injustice as to shock the conscience. A whole new generation of men and women, and their families, will be doomed to serve unreasonably long prison terms.

Many will be brown or poor whites from the other side of the tracks.

Breitbart.com, the fake news site known for propelling Donald Trump and Steve Bannon into power, posts and promotes a large swath of climate denying content on its widely read site. 2,100 companies have stopped buying advertisements on Breitbart.com

President Donald Trump told a fanciful little tale Tuesday about Air Force One being denied landing rights in the Philippines during a trip by his predecessor because bilateral relations were so bad. That didn’t happen, The Associated Press reports.

Before boarding the plane in Manila to come home, Trump bragged to the press that he’s pushed relations with the Philippines to new heights. “And as you know, we were having a lot of problems with the Philippines,” he said. “The relationship with the past administration was horrible... You know what happened. Many of you were there, and you never got to land. The plane came close but it didn’t land.”

That prompted a lot of head-scratching. President Barack Obama last visited the Philippines in November 2015, arriving in Manila from Turkey. There were no problems with landing the plane. Obama used the visit to announce the U.S. was transferring two ships to the Philippine Navy.

Perhaps Trump was referring erroneously to Obama’s aborted meeting with President Rodrigo Duterte? In September 2016, Obama abruptly canceled a meeting with the new Philippines leader in Laos after Duterte called him an obscene name. Duterte was warning Obama not to speak with him about the brutality of his crackdown on the illegal drug trade. Obama went ahead with his Laos trip, meeting other leaders.

The "Associated Press". Yes let me trust whatever they say, gee that's smart.

He lies, Clinton lies, Obama lies, they all lie. The media, government, cops, whatever.

How can you draw conclusions?

You have a choice. You can discriminate fact from fiction or blame everyone for being liars. But doing so puts oneself in the same position because our national leaders are a reflection of the peoples consciousness of a nation.

The national leaders may be a reflection of the peoples consciousness of a nation, but not mine.

The choice seems clear to me: to trust or not.

I for one will not fall for it. Even NK and NASA reports, while some of it may be true, is all of it?

You may have a personal vendetta against some $sshole in power, and that's how you roll. Don't expect others to drown in that line of thinking.

I have a personal interest in the survival of the species.
We have done quite well in our choice of leaders. Unfortunately
that is not true now. The more and more is brought to light about our present people in power the less and less chance of them being elected again.

The species will survive and adapt as it always has, I can't think of any political leaders that were well done by choosing, who are they?

If current leader is not elected again, it will just be some other bimbo. When has that not happened?
