i have been trying to understand this quest for emotional highs with other people. i believe that many of us are enamored by emotional highs. i call them this because we often tell other people we love them and they say the same things to us. But it just doesn't last so long. It doesn't pan out. Cheesy Usually the expectations are shattered by circumstances or realities that both partners are unable to reconcile with the pattern of life style they have chosen for themselves.

I've met people who were very cautious to say I love you openly. I have also met people who said it early in a relationship. Sometimes holding your tongue or initial feelings in a new relationship makes for a deeper connection. On the flip side, I also respect those who share so easily, even if the bond is not as deep it's nice to be loved. Although, it is relatively easy to detect an insincere remark. I guess it has something to do with 'going with the flow' and not attempting to place a limited understanding on a unique situation.

Feelings between people -- feelings between you and i -- can be very wonderful. We just have to realize how easily they can change. It is very few relationships that can transcend opinions and temporary differences. When you see it happen between friends and less often between lovers it is awe inspiring and seems to come from somewhere much higher then human emotions alone.
